51 000KM Pirelli's Worn Out

I've bolded the important parts incase this is too much to read.

So I am at 51 000Km on my car (about 28 500 miles) and my pirelli's are just about done. I figure I have the highest mileage 2.4SS on here since I got mine right when they came out and I used it for work everyday.

Anyway, back to the tires. They are just about at the wear bars and do very unexpected things now on the highway. They shake....sometimes....change direction slightly.....sometimes.....and just give a general loose feel to the car. They also make a lot of noise. Also, my tire shifted a belt around 40 000KM and has had the shakes between the speeds of 85KM-100KM ever since. It can't be fixed either.

My GF's mom has an auto 2.4SS and I checked the tread depth on her tires (about 10 000KM, or 6 000 miles) and holy **** theres a lot more. I figure mine to be around 10% left or so.

So I already have an idea of my next tire, and its going to be a 225/45R17. I'll have them soon since my tires have gone away. I am hoping that larger tread pattern will help me at the 1/4 mile when launching.

No wonder I could only do a 15.20 stock with my car last time I was there. My tires were gripping even less then usual, n: and it was a hot and sunny day too!

Anyone else anywhere near this mileage? Having tire wear issues?

The pirellis are very soft rubber.

I don't expect to get more than 30k out of mine.

Get new tires!!! Are those p-zeros? If so, be happy you got close to 30000 miles on them. Get some Eagle F1 GS-D3, you'll love them!

I rotate them every 10 000KM (6000miles) and I still have those stubble things on the side of my tires too.

On my Pontiac, I had a set of Falkens that had a 60000 mile warranty - they were worn at 19k, and I didn't drive aggressive at all. I wonder why they don't carry that warranty anymore...maybe because my next set of tires were Yokohama, and cost me about 90 bucks out the door for the set.

(they were warrantied for 50k, and I got 49k out of them...couldn't ask for much more than that)
