2K5SS/SC?'s Great News!!!!

Well, it's about 2:50 AM and I just got back from an extended test drive. At first it burnt coolant like it did before with the blown headgasket, and I thought I was screwed. Once all the residual coolant burnt off, BAM the car stopped smoking and ran smoothly. I got the air bubbles out of the coolant system, and then slowly did some test runs. She pulls like a rocketship my friends, and drives like a dream! I am so damn stoked right now. I think this is the happiest I've been in months!

I would definately like to thank all those who helped me with my questions, put up with my bitching, and actually helped me (girlfriend- helped lift head onto engine and cut her hands on the sharp edges doing so, and my buddy chris - helped me get the timing chain right on the money!

I'll give her a little more driving tomorrow, and then it's 2.8" pulley time. When I come back from the deployment, it's more boost and power adders for me since the headgasket, clutch, and other weak points are fixed!

Congrats. Did you use a stock gasket or a Cometic? and did you repace the head bolts with ARP studs instead?

Yeah it's running great. I left the cam sensor unplugged so that's the only CEL I had, but I plugged her in, and it went away. Missing one connector is not too bad considering it was around 2:00AM this morning when I finshed putting the car back together! Any yes it feels great knowing the job got done right!

I used a Cometic headgasket and Golden Eagle Studs for the job. The Golden Eagle studs are better than the ARP ones because the glass bead finish gives a more accurate torque spec!

Oh, Shhhhhh... don't tell anyone, but I already put by NGKBKR7E-IX's in along with the 2.8" pulley. OMFG the blower sounds even more badass! It pulls great too!

Well, I'm not out of the hoel quite yet. I threw two codes P0017 which is a cam to crak sensor issue and the infamous P0103 intake code. I'm going to work on it sometime later. Oh, and the car doesn't like to start because of the P0017 code either. I expected something like this to happen though.
