NGASales 06-17-2005, 07:00 PM The SS Model is in the works but will most likely be a few more months. We will run a GP for that as well when it becomes available.
As for the just the regular Cobalts will work with this intake.
moxjake 06-17-2005, 07:35 PM WTH is up with that dyno chart. It says 117 max HP baseline. That can't possibly right. I call into question the validity of their dyno results.

plus 6 hp can be changed on a dyno very easily, and for $219, im not sure thats worth it
wikkymaster 06-17-2005, 08:44 PM ill buy it but how exactly are you running this, do you ahve to pay first then wait for it to be shipped or once you get enough people then we pay? cuz i want it i just dont have the money yet, probably not until late next week
NGASales 06-17-2005, 09:47 PM To make it easier for everyone, we will wait to see the response to how many people are going to be in.
Giving it 14 total days!
Once We get some people interested we will begin the payment process so they can ship out ASAP after that.
Thanks!

Thanks!
wikkymaster 06-19-2005, 09:28 PM everyone is anxious for an intake yet nobody wants it now? i dont understand....
MarcS 06-19-2005, 11:05 PM WTH is up with that dyno chart. It says 117 max HP baseline. That can't possibly right. I call into question the validity of their dyno results.
You don't know what gear they pulled it in, and you don't know if they took it all the way to redline. They probably borrowed a car from a new owner and didn't want to risk any damage. The hp gains should be static regardless of the max power.
MarcS 06-19-2005, 11:07 PM plus 6 hp can be changed on a dyno very easily, and for $219, im not sure thats worth it
True it may only be 6-7hp but a 17lbs of torque is a good upgrade. Torque is what gets you off the line.

it increased 7 ft lbs of torque
and torque occurs during the whole powerband
$219 is a fuckin hell of a lot of money for an intake
PBiddy412 06-20-2005, 12:44 AM Especially for a group purchase. Not to fond of the 219 price myself either. Still haven't heard anything about it giving cel problems either?

You're right it is 7ft lbs of torque. In the product desc they say 17ft lbs, but on the dyno they show 7.. lol

T Dawg 06-22-2005, 02:32 PM I'm new to modding, how will this affect fuel economy? I know most people don't mind losing a few miles per gallon when gaining power. I would like to improve both, am I nuts?
NGASales 06-22-2005, 02:46 PM T Dawg-Most of the time with any time of mod that improves air flow you will possibly gain a mpg or to or at least stay even, once you get to the much larger mods ie piston rods etc, that is when you begin to burn fuel faster.
I previously had a 1996 Z24 with Injen Short Ram got 32-33 MPG still on highway.
Let us know if you want in on this!
NGA
i would buy it but i dont know how to use paypal. :( all i deal with is cash, so ill probably have to get one of the performance shops around where i live to order one in for me
NGASales 06-24-2005, 03:10 AM Got 1 paid so far waiting on the others.
These things will be shipping next week as soon as the payments start rolling in!!
wikkymaster 06-24-2005, 03:32 AM doesnt look like im gonna have enough this paycheck to pay my car bills and that
Phoenix 06-24-2005, 10:08 AM I don't know much about mods and what not so I have a few questions.
First, what does this do to the Warranty on my car? The dealer told me no engine mods of my warrranty is void.
Also, how difficult is it to put this on?
NGASales 06-24-2005, 10:45 AM As far as the warranty goes that is between you and the dealership, some will work on it some wont.
As far as we know it will be very easy to install. It comes with a full set of instructions as well.
Wikky dont worry about just let us know when you are ready to order we will hold on for you.
wikkymaster 06-24-2005, 11:51 AM thanks
DC52NV 06-24-2005, 11:55 AM wow, that's a pretty good deal for an injen CAI. i would jump all over this if i had a cobalt.
NGASales: The only concern I have is the CEL codes throwing, as was mentioned earlier. Have you incountered this problem, if so, I'm assuming you have addressed it. Either way, I would just like to have your input. I am very interested, so this is really the only thing holding me back....thanks
NGASales 06-24-2005, 08:57 PM Jive: My Injen rep said they had zero problems with the intake installed on the car! But then again he is trying to sell the product. I have probably sold over 100 Injen takes to local kids and never heard of one have any issues so far, now that is not to say it could not happen, but Injen tries to make their intakes with the least amount of problems. I installed on my previous Z24 and never had one issue. Thing increased power and sounded great!
Let me know if that helps
dimeo09 06-25-2005, 01:25 AM I had an injen intake on my previous car, 2001 mitsu galant, i absolutely loved the thing. It sounded awesome, got better mpg's, and a tad quicker(hardly noticeable on my super slow car) but it was well worth the $175 dollars i paid. once an injen intake comes out for the SS ill be all over it
T Dawg 06-25-2005, 01:55 PM I would love one, but I am currently looking for a new job and have a wife and two kids, so it'll have to wait.

NGASales 07-07-2005, 11:20 PM Pictures are in the gallery check them out let me know if you need more!!
Permafried- 07-07-2005, 11:35 PM Had a couple questions since it appears I have a little more time to consider the mod than I first thought.
Firstly, I believe I misunderstood how sales to Canada are handled. How will the price of the CAI itself change as well as shipping charges?
Second, does Injen have any plans to release models in the future to further increase the hp and torque gains, or is this pretty much going to be the most they can get out of the intakes?
And finally, will adding this to my LS void my warranty, or will it still hold?
Thanks,
Permafried-
grizbone 07-08-2005, 03:44 PM I'm going to have to compare engine bays of the ION and Cobalt and see if this will work for the ION's, I know the short ram part of it will, curious as to whether the whole cold air assembly will work. From pictures it seems it will.
The SS Model is in the works but will most likely be a few more months. We will run a GP for that as well when it becomes available.
As for the just the regular Cobalts will work with this intake.
can you ask them about the redline intakes? i'll give you a cookie....

TarZan 07-13-2005, 11:01 PM holy crap! i just got it today, and boy am i extatic about it. i put it in(the short ram-i may get the cai going later on) this afternoon and the results are amazing. definitely feel a huge difference. and it sounds grrrreat. but this best thing about it is the cel has NOT come on! thank you thank you very much.
detrini 07-13-2005, 11:41 PM Did my install today also, did the full cai. Taking off the front bumber was tons of fun.
wikkymaster 07-14-2005, 12:38 AM yuck, let us know how to do it

wikkymaster 07-14-2005, 11:26 PM http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y5/wikkymaster/7-14-05003.jpg
deuceKb 07-15-2005, 12:17 AM easy to install wikky? and does the cover that goes over the air intake just pop off like the other cover does that goes over the engine? i got it off pretty easy but haven't tried taking the other cover off yet.
anyone notice a difference w/out the covers on? like engine noise? wondering if those actually make a big difference.
wikkymaster 07-15-2005, 12:24 AM yea its real simple, two nuts above the airbox and one of those tightening rings by the throttle body you have to unscrew i think thats about it
