I am officially a Cobalt owner
Hey everyone,
All of the chat, answers, questions and conversation in here has really helped me reaffirm that I made the right choice in ordering the Cobalt.
As of 11 a.m. or so today I became one of you because I placed my order with the dealership for my 2007 Cobalt SS sedan, laser metallic blue. The only other features I am getting are the automatic trans and the sunroof.
You are truly a great bunch of people, and I figure that in October I will get the car. Then I can start to maybe come out the NJ meets.
I won't be modding the car, it'll be my everyday driver, but if it's cool I'd still like to come out and meet you all. Every time I see one on the road I think "That is such a sweet little car!"
Thanks again everyone!
Keith

Congrats! We have meets every month at Fuddruckers on US1...come out for the next meet anyway in whatever you currently drive, everyone is welcome
LetsgoMets78, use this long link...there are a bunch of 2006 SS Sedans near you...and right now until 9/5 the incentives are $1250, plus the base cost of the 2006 is lower...

Congratulations on the new Cobalt. As for modding we all start off in denial then we wake up to the reality that Cobalts look good smoking the competition.
ReggaeRampage and DJmKafka, oh yeah, I did some major research. Eventually it was narrowed down to the Cobalt or the Mazda 3, and I took most of July and August to finally decide on the Cobalt. This site and all of you help tremendously. Both are great cars, but when I got in the Cobalt, I "just knew", the car spoke to me and felt right.
I test drove the Mazda 3 too, and it was a great little car. But it just didn't speak to me the way the Cobalt did. That and the cost of ownership for the Mazda 3 is higher because it's assembled in Japan and most of the parts are still made exclusively there...so if something breaks I'll pay through the nose for it. That and more than one review said the A/C in the 3 isn't as strong as it could be, especially going up hills or when accelerating. And in Jersey we get nasty humid summers where A/C is really really needed.
My friends have VW's they got them right after college. They haven't held up well and all 3 of them said never again to a VW (Jetta, GTI and Golf).
I know I am going to love the car. About modding, I don't race and I am not an aggressive driver. I just go along with everyone on the highway and just go about my business. But it's cool to see someone who's modded out their car and done a great job with it, it's just not me though.

Hopefully I will get the opportunity to come this month, it depends on my schedule
. I lived in New Bunfus (Fuddruckers) for 3 years, and I am glad I don't live there anymore! But I do miss the grease trucks!
But I;m just down the road form Hot Dog Johnny's...I saw that you guys sometimes cruise up there...

Yea, New Brunswick isn't the best area. I wanted to cruise up to Hot Dog Johnny's but I don't think anyone else did. I used to pass that place every weekend going to PA
I love it up here, it's not as far from everything as one would think it is...and the roads are empty, which is great for just cruising around...no one to bother you. And I am not talking about racing and doing dangerous stuff or driving drunk, just enjoying you, your car and the road!
