CobaltSS132 06-21-2005, 02:42 AM They are comign out with one soon, i was just at the K&N R&D building and they were prototyping a CAI on my SS, for the SS they said it will give consistant increase of 8HO throughout the RPM band. I think its about $250 american and the prototype will be going into production in about a week or so (if everythign goes well) and it will be out in around a month and im sure they are working on one for the 2.2 and it should be out soon after the SS's brianfcp 06-21-2005, 03:11 AM i think id rather buy the K&N CAI rather than the Injen everyone else is considering. Although, all these intakes are rather expensive. CobaltSS132 06-21-2005, 03:16 AM I think the K&N will be better the length that they are going to to make sure the product is consistent and safe is impressive. I also saw some of the dyno results and it looks like a solid increase in HP. brianfcp 06-21-2005, 03:59 AM as to answer penguinPIE, just wait the couple months it may be til K&N releases for the cobalt. its not really priority anyways to get an intake or new airfilter, as the stock is sufficient. although I can't wait til I can fully BPU the car, im in no hurry, as there is no reason to be. OnequikSS 06-21-2005, 05:33 AM I am waiting for K&N's release of the CAI. Cant wait to get one, ive had K&N filters on all my cars and love them. No problems at all. :D moxjake 06-21-2005, 08:23 PM They are comign out with one soon, i was just at the K&N R&D building and they were prototyping a CAI on my SS, for the SS they said it will give consistant increase of 8HO throughout the RPM band. CobaltSS132 06-21-2005, 10:38 PM Ya it is (im pretty sure it is) PenguinPIE 06-21-2005, 11:12 PM hmm......i just wanna get more out of my 2.2 and i thought that replacing the filter to K & N is one of the easiest and cheaper way. but is there any other things that i can do?.. jaded 06-22-2005, 01:47 AM hmm......i just wanna get more out of my 2.2 and i thought that replacing the filter to K & N is one of the easiest and cheaper way. but is there any other things that i can do?.. On the 2.2 cobalt you probably won't notice the hp difference (1-3hp on a good day - I haven't checked, but i think the 2.2 filter used is similar to the standard filters used in the 02-present cavaliers) but it definitely is a good idea and should be MUCH cheaper than those typhoons :) The factory filter is literally made out of paper and is total crap. It's just healthly for your car to have a good air filter. Thats pretty much the easiest and cheapest mod, next on the list would be exhaust work and engine mods all of which are alot more expensive then an air filter ;) PenguinPIE 06-22-2005, 02:09 AM On the 2.2 cobalt you probably won't notice the hp difference (1-3hp on a good day - I haven't checked, but i think the 2.2 filter used is similar to the standard filters used in the 02-present cavaliers) but it definitely is a good idea and should be MUCH cheaper than those typhoons :) The factory filter is literally made out of paper and is total crap. Although, it is not reusable like a K&N is. jaded 06-22-2005, 10:12 PM ic.......i guess ill stop at the filter.......dont wanna spend too much on 2.2....and save up for i dont know.....the up coming camaro.... hehe Smart move...I'm saving up for a C6..hopefully next year...my cobalt is really only to get me from A to B (and looks pretty damn good in the process) :D PenguinPIE 06-27-2005, 02:38 PM hehe Smart move...I'm saving up for a C6..hopefully next year...my cobalt is really only to get me from A to B (and looks pretty damn good in the process) :D true ...true........V8 it is  |
