Engine and Transmission: Immediate Action??
Engine and Transmission: Immediate Action??
Well I got my onstar monthly email thing and under engine and transmission it said immediate action required. So i went out to the car and pushed the blue button for a diagnostic "probe" and they said there is a problem with my transmission/clutch. Well the car drives normal most of the time but sometimes it refuses to go into second gear (i had been thinking that im becoming a lousy shifter). I also discovered today that my cruise control is not working. Im taking it to the dealer tommorow but does anyone have an f'n clue what the hell is wrong with my car?
Well, not being able to shift into second gear could be a clutch problem, or a linkage or synchro problem. I know there are alot of people who have had problems with the linkage so it may just be that.
Usually when the cruise control won't activate it is because the clutch pedal is being held down too long. This almost always happens when people drive with their foot resting on the clutch pedal. The only way to get the cruise control to engage again is to clear the code from the computer.
