Question Time!!
Okay well i have the Pursuit G5/Gt and i have been talking to my dealership about getting the GMPP Performance Exhaust.. Well he got numbers for me today and it is going to cost roughly 645.xx$ Canadian for Full Install and Thats Including Gst...dont forget this is in Canadian Money.. so its a bit more expensive... im deciding if i should go for that.. or purchase the exhaust off a website and have them install it for 2 hours at 95$ an hour.... can i please have some opinions?

Andrew

Install it yourself. Seriously, you could buy handsaw and a jack and jack stands for less than that. You'll need hand tools for the bolts.
Also, how far are you from the border..??
wait, the exhaust and install is $645..?? Hell, it runs a little over $400 for the exhaust here, not sure what the exchange rate is though.

it took me 45 minutes to take my old exhaust off, and put the new one on.. and i have never done an exhaust before, ever... if someone tells you it's 2 hours, they're ripping you off big time... you can very easily do it yourself with little to no experience... you literally take off 2 bolts that connect to the cat, remove the rubber hangers, and that's it... may have to cut the pipe to get it off... to put the new one on, you just bolt it back to the cat, put the hangers back on, good to go

your warrenty will not be affected either way if you do it or if hte dealer does... has nothing to do with it...

that's because they want to overcharge you and take your money... they cannot void your warrenty because you installed an exhaust, trust me... that's the first rule to know when you start modding...
look up magnason moss and show it to them... it basically says that it's illegal for your warrenty to be voided from using aftermarket parts... they cannot void your warrenty because you installed an exhaust, unless it was installed wrong and that's what messed things up.... but trust me, you're 10 year old brother can help with this install...
Alright, thanks for all the support. and i may have my dad convinced saying " This is my first car, i want to learn about it, i pay for it so i want to have some part in the mods i am going to be doing on it. Umm if its not a big pain in the butt.. how many jacks will i need...you said i might have to cut the exhaust.. am i cutting the old one or the new one? and is there instructions that come with the exhaust when you buy it?
Thanks,
Andrew

Cool.. i think me and my dad should have no problems installing it ourselves.. my dad has some background knowledge on cars.. and he has a ton of knowledge on Trains.. because he works for Canadian Pacific Railway... so cars are just on a smaller scale.. hahaha i think i might order it and do it myself then. Thanks
Oh yah if anyone could answer this question...... If i do buy the Gmmp Performance exhaust... how do u put on the tip that you need to buy seperate? Im kinda confused on thsi part.. Thanks
Andrew
Andrew
you will need jacks for the back mostly... in the front of the car (towards the middle actually) there are 2 bolts... if you look under the car, and follow the exhaust pipe back, you'll see what i mean... i used 2 ramps for the back of the car and had no problem... not sure about the tip...
as far as cutting, the old exhaust will have to be cut off, you'll see where when you have to cut it... it won't come out because it won't bend over the axle... you'll see what i mena..
