So far, Friday night looks to be pretty good. Nice 70 degree weather. Who's gonna be there. Winter is coming so lets take advantage of the weather before we are freezing our asses off.

Cool...I can't wait to see your Cobalt Donna. From the pics it looks awesome. Yesterday i went and 2 other cobalts left me hangin making me the only cobalt stuck facing the 20000000 srt4's. Where do the cobalts usually park

we used to meet up at the mcdonalds but now most people meet at cobalt-addiction and now go to ruby tuesdays on commack road, about 2 minutes from DPA.

Wow Ive never seen a DPA thread started this early in the week i was in LI this weekend and i really wanted to go out there but the weather was shitty and of course this up coming weekend the weather is clear and im up in Ct

 

u know ill be there...donna im sure u heard bout all mike,paul, and big mikes car at the track..if not we were there and i mite b goin back there to finish puttin all stock parts back on there cars. im not sure wuts goin down for friday....this sucks.

yea lots of broken stuff. i made a good first pass and ran a 13.8 @ 103mph. on my 2nd pass, around the 1/8 mark, my car jerked for a second and i couldnt shift outta 2nd. so something with my transmission is screwed up. plus i have a nice crack in the bellhousing casing. paul blew his axle and something with his transmission in the water box and big mike blew his axle on his 2nd pass in the water box. we swapped my good drive axle with his broken one so he could still drive his car home that night. we were at the track till 1:30am fixing mike's car and waiting for the tow-truck. we had the cars towed to ramp chevy last night so we'll see what the damage is and hopefully the cars will be covered under warranty otherwise im screwed.

 

no fun indeed.... oh well... funny didn't even floor it or anything no clutch drop... just blew up

 

dam dude I'm glad I didn't go lol. Holy **** man I can't believe that. Well Paul like I said I had some old time friends over the night before and well I found out that when you can't really feel 151 burning your throat as it goes down, you should stop drinking. I hear ya... I was just extremely pissed off sunday and didn't need the I told you so,.. but since you went through the same thing I understand... but thanks for the tranny... (hopefully I don't need it) but even if.. I think I'll take it off you hands and bring it to my tranny guy to see if we can beef it up.... its on its way to another dealership so I'll keep you guys posted on what happens

That sucks for all this destruction. The first time I put my car up on the lift (about a week old when I was doing my exhaust) I wanted to see how thick the axles were...............They look soooo weak it's not even funny.

The team that built the srt4 KNEW what they were building. They KNEW people would drag race the car even though it was fwd. However, in our case, all GM did was put in a supercharged, underrated engine in and made it look nice. The clutch sucks, the axles suck, interior falls apart. Pistons are probably only good until 320ish whp. Trannies are blowing left and right. I'm getting fed up with this crap. I'm starting to regret not purchasing the srt4. lol sorry about my rant

What time are you guys meeting up? Also, what would be the exact address of where you would be meeting up? I think I may come down this friday. I have school until 5 but 06black had told me you guys don't meet up until around 9 anyway.

kinda off topic but someone said our tranny's suck thought they were very good being swedish and all but seriously i thought they have been used for a long time and could hand alot?

 

I was the one who said it. I thought, just like you do, that they were supposed to be good as well. But this is not the first time i've heard of a tranny being blown in a cobalt ss/sc. I mean, we don't have 400 whp ss/sc's yet, hell probably not even 350. Darksun blew his trans with like almost no mods.

 

trix blew his at 3k (no g85 though) ,,, I"ll find out tomorrow exactly whats broken... hopefully just the clutch and bellhouing oh yeah and the axle too... but after next week.. it ain't happenin again
