can OEM cruise be added to '07 cobalt?

question just like the title says...can cruise control be added by using OEM parts to the '07 cobalt? If so, has anyone done this upgrade?

Im not sure but when I used to work at a gm dealership most of the newer cars you just changed the multifunction switch and programed the computer with a scan tool.

well this is question #2 left unanswered. So far it seems as if nobody on this website does anything with their cars...as these are pretty damn simple questions!

Check with a gm garage I don't know because I have cruise so I dont care whats involved. On the some of the newer small cars 04-05 all we did was change the multifunction switch and program the computer. I'm not gonna phone and find out for you im sure you know how to use the telephone

Gee, thanks! If I wanted to pick up the phone to call a dealership only to be told that it can't be added, I wouldn't have joined a message forum. Good god, what the **** is the point of a message forum when you can't ask a simple ******* question without someone being a bitch about it.

And if you had any ******* clue at all..cruise isn't on the multifunction switch on the cobalts...so how the **** is that gonna work??? Thanks Mr. Genius..you've made my day!

Listen ******** If you wanted cruise buy a ******* car with cruise I know cruise isn't on a multi function switch I was trying to tell you it could be that easy. Not all gm garages suck some will try to help you. Maybe you could change the controls and turn it on in the computer Im not sure, or you could put in a shity aftermarket on with one of those ugly switches on your dash. Good luck

Maybe nobody helps you because your an ass. look at your second post no one had responded so you where whining. I was just trying to help you

Like he said, it's much easier to just buy a car with cruise in the first place,, that aside

You're asking a fairly technical question about an '07. I don't think there are many 07 cobalts on these boards yet. Instead of talking **** about the community, why don't you step up and try it,,, then we'll all know

There have only been cobalts for a few years now. This isn't like the Neon or Cavalier forums, with a decade old platform and knowledge.

If you want immediate answers to every possible inquiry you shouldn't have bought a car that's only in its 3rd year of production. We'll get to that point around here eventually. But you hafta remember, the oldest Cobalts period,, are only 3 years old now. You hafta have patience man

**** you buddy...if it was my motherfucking car, it would have had cruise...but since it's not my ******* car, it doesn't have cruise! Gee...heaven forbid that someone out there has the ability of modifying their own cars, and is willing to do it. My god..I never knew that there was a message forum out there where nobody could ******* help!

And gee...after coming here and having lord only knows how many people say "oh someone on here will help you" then having something posted for 2 days that's a simple ******* question...nobody can answer it! THIS IS THE REASON I OWN A ******* NEON! Go to SRTforums...someone posts a problem, there's an answer within MINUTES! But CobaltSS.net...wow, these guys have just now realized that there's something going from the intake into the exhaust manifold! and the car's have been out for how long...and this was an '06 CHANGE! RIDICULOUS! At least us Neon guys aren't afraid to tear into our cars and figure out how **** works..and make stuff work that's not supposed to...

BTW...if this was such a ridiculous request...and you knew cruise wasn't on the multifunction switch, WHY THE **** DID YOU ANSWER IN THE FIRST PLACE? and FWIW, i've got cruise on my SRT setup (no srt's have factory cruise), and there wasn't a goddamn dealership involved with making that work...but there IS a 17 page thread on SRTforums.

Listen buddy. The rudeness and name calling is not needed. Yes this is a message forum, BUT it's not a know-all-encyclopedia. It is not my job to call the dealer for you, nor is this a common thing that people on this forum are doing (adding cruise control). Just because we modify cars, we DO NOT know or do everything in the world to them. You are the first that I know of to ask this question. Heaven forbid since noeone has chimed in yet with an answer, not everyone is on yet and maybe someone tonight will know. If you can not wait anylonger as your posts imply., then call a dealership. Looks like you joined the forum with the wrong mindset.

dude...3 years! Read SRTforums...go back to the '03 posts, and see how much people knew about those cars within weeks of them being released.

and i'm sorry..but there's not much technical about it. either you add a switch and flash an ecu, or you add a control module, or it just can't be done. I didn't ask what the ECU voltages were for each switch, or what pinout on the ECU was the cruise control activation...just simply "can it be done".

yeap...I did. I thought I joined a forum full of people that were knowlegeable in this car that's now been out for 3 years. After the past week, i've realized how wrong I was. So far, all i've found is a bunch of dealership babies that can't figure out how to fix their own vehicles.

and i'll say it again...if i wanted the dealership to tell me it can't be done, I would have called them by now. But i've got an SRT-4 engine/trans in my '02 neon, with '02 neon cruise control on it...and the dealership wasn't involved at all in my cruise install or my engine/trans install...since they swore NEITHER would work. BY GOD IT DOES! Hell...do we need to go back to mid 2000 when myself and a friend of mine completed the first 2.4L swap in a 1g neon, FIRST ONE EVER..when we were accused of putting a 2.4L valve cover on the motor because everyone knew it wouldn't work??? Bet the dealership would have told me to do that swap too, right?

If the SRT boards knew everything about the cobalt back in 03, than why are you on here asking "simple questions"

People tried to help and you showed your true colors.

Someone needs to realize that NO ONE KNOWS EVERYTHING! This is a new platform and technically, the neon has been out since the 90's (95 i believe). NOONE HAS ASKED THIS YET so there is NO information available unless someone has done it. It is a rather involved process if it is anything like I'm thinking. The swearing is not needed and neither is the attitude. I guess if you did it once you should have a basis on where to start on this car. For the record, ONLY the 2.2 (maybe 2.4??) has the added port to the manifold. This was an addidtion halfway through '06 production. I have a 2.0 so I have no knowledge fo the 2.2's. If this continues, I politely ask you to go back to the srtforums since we "know nothing of our new platform cars." But someone did mention an idea of where to start and you shot their help down.

wow you really are a ******* idiot!!! people on SRTforums knew about the [gasp] SRT [/gasp] within a few weeks.

I'm showing my true colors? LOL. I belong to message forums where people reply to help each other...not where people only reply to be a bunch of dicks. Amazing how this thread has taken off with me making one shitty comment...and STILL nobody has offered any assistance! ******* SIMPLY AMAZING!
