Is the raspy......

SO my exhaust is raspy as all hell. I've deleted my resonator and put a magna flow exhaust on it. That''s all, all stock piping etc etc.

It's very very raspy. so my question:

Is the raspiness due to the muffler, or is it due to the resonator delete?

If it is the muffler.....are there any mufflers out there that do not have a rasp?

well that's what happens when you take your resonator out... what did you think was gonna happen? i would put it back if you don't like the sound, or get a new exhaust

yea it is most likely the resonator then. They are there to reduce raspy/baffling sounds in the exhaust.

For what it's worth, I had the pipe cut where it goes from 2.5 to 2.25, and replaced with 2.5 all the way through, with a magnaflow muffler, and I love the sound. Just like stock, but louder.

Hmm, I'll have to take a look at where they cut it. I rolled up to Magna Flow and told them to replace the resonator with a straight piece. Who knows where they cut it. I'm not exactly the best handy man with my car. (Don't have a welder.)

Mine was cut after the resonator - like literally 10 inches or so before the rear axle. I just took it to a muffler shop, and the did it for 30 bucks. (bought the parts off a buddy of mine) Given our differences, I'd say try to get the resonator back in and you'll have some success.
