The Magnuson Moss Act

ok, I know this excists, as most do, but I dont fully understand it.
I tried to do some reading on it today while I was bored, but it all makes no sence to me, to technical for my small brain to figure out, lol

can someone give me the quick coles notes version of it, in simple terms.
Im just curious to how it works and what its about.
also, is this strictly a US of A thing, or does it apply to Canada as well ?

Thanks

It's a law which basically states that a company can not void the warranty on your car unless they can prove that the aftermarket part you added is what has caused the factory part to malfunction.

Even if they do prove this to be true, they can not void warranty on the whole car, just on the part which you have caused to malfunction

to elaborate ^^... if you put an intake on the car, and your windshield wipers stop working, they still have to cover it... they cannot void the entire warrenty simply because you put an intake on the car..

its a us only law. you are out of luck cause last i heard most canadian insurance agencies will drop you, or you pay alot more, if you modify your car at all.

insruance companies do charge more if your car is "modded" atleast in my area they do, unless they dont know it is.
as for the warrenty act, why does it apply down there, and not up here for us ?
doesnt seem fair to me, lol

We are two seperate countries with very different laws...that could be a plausible reason....lol
