best size tire for me?

soon enough i'll be due for some new tires. now i'm not planning on spending 200 bucks a tire..i dont have that much money, but i also dont want to buy crappy performance tires(like are on there now...nankang something..at high speeds it feels so uncomfortable)

i think the wheels i have on there are 17x7. current tires are 215/45/17. i know NOTHING bout tires, except for what those numbers mean on the tire lol. also, any type of tires you guys recommend? i would like something that works on the track/on the road/in rain.

BFG KDW2s. There about 156 a tire and will do what you want. But dont use them in the snow! There not made for that.

I love mine. And as for size I would stay with that size if your rim is only 7" wide. You might be able to get away with a 225 but the BFG tires have a vary stiff side wall and you might have problems with tread cuping if you go wider.

Later man

manufactures have rim size recommentdations. 225/45r17 should work but check it out. 225/40R17's will not for sure.

The stock tires do suck....I don't want to spend an arm & leg to get some replacements either. I've been doing some research and found that the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S are a substantially much better tire than the OE Pirelli's for much less price. I don't know where in Texas you are and if you will ever see snow, but these will supposedly hold their own in light, light, Texas snow. I'm not going to waste money buying new rims either. So I'm going to stick with the same size. I do all my tire research at tirerack.com. Check out the survey results and read some peoples ratings. You will make a good decision.

The fuzions ZRi are great tires from what my buddies say. The new Kuhmo Exsta SPT looks promising for the price, and the KDW's are great tires too. It's all in price vs. performance.
