O.K. Odd Situation...

O.K. this is a good one for you guys. I have discovered that there is a "Check Engine Light Ghost" that lives on I-94 Near Gratiot here in SE Michigan. My car acts fine all week until thursdays. On thursday nights every week for the past three, while returning home from school, my cars check engine light comes on at the exact same place only on thursdays. the day after it always dissapears! WTF, I took it to the local repair shop near me and they said that the car was throwing a code of "1174" my questions are, 1. what does this code mean? and two what would cause my car to throw the check engine light on at the exact same place at the exact same times, on only thursdays? when the light comes on i see, nor hear, nor smell, nor feel any problems with the car. any ideas? my only thought is that this is one of the only times during the week i do alot of freeway driving, could this have some thing to do with it?

any advise would be appreciated,

-Python

Stop taking I-94, thats my advice.

That is weird. But I have never had any problems when driving around there. Could be something to do with extended driving. Have you taken it on any long trips lately? To see if it happens then?

Maybe code 1174 is for "Near Gratiot, MI".

However, I am curious, find out what that code is and let me know.

could just be something to do with the air in that ONE spot. only thing i can think of. before i got my new motor, my old motor would throw a code everytime the weather changed dramatically. like 80 degrees down to 60 degrees. strange...

OMG! I had problems to right by that area. My Sedan just stalled and shut off doing 70mph in the middle lane. I swear that area is cursed. Just the other day several people at the same time were changing flat tires by there.

More than likely it is something that is happening in that one spot and the engine is sensing something it doesn't like.

I had an 95 Camaro that the CEL would come on while I was on the freeway. It would come on the exact second I would take my foot off the gas at an exit. It never failed to happen. This would be the exit to go home. Not really a coincidence, just seemed like one because that was the only time I was on the freeway was coming home from work.

It must be where all the car ghosts hang out and f*** with peoples cars...

But seriously it could be the atmospheric conditions of the area
