Has anyone messed with the steering wheel controls?

I Plan on getting nitrous soon (within 4 months) and I thought it would be an awesome idea to tie my nitrous arming into the the toggle switch for cruise control, but I'm not quite sure if the output for the switch is able to be tapped into while still maintaining use of my cruise control. Has anyone thought of/tried this?

as far as i know, the controls on the wheel all tap into the main harness for the ECM, in other words, it's all electonic, not just a power switch... the only way that i could see it working would be if you could tap into the LED that comes on... but i think even that would be a fools errand...

here's an idea... pull the hot for a relay off of the rear defroster. you could still have a sneaky switch, plus, it's already in the back, all you'd need is a few feet of wire and a $4 12v relay

I wouldnt mess with trying to mod the steering wheel. Stay as far away as possible from the air bag as possible.

Hmm not a bad idea either, the only thing i dont like is the amount of drain this will cause on the alternator, but either way, good idea
