Tirerack has some packages as low as 607 shipped. That's winter tires and steelies.

I just baught slightly used Bridgestone Blisaks WS50's for 250 Canadian, if your skint on cash it can't hurt to try some used tire places. although I got mine from a friend from autocrossing.

SS/SC Winter Tires & Steel Wheels

Since the Malibu Maxx (Part No. 9594785, 16x6.5) steel wheels have gone up in price, there isn't much available for the 18" SS/SC owners.

Found out today that the old $69 wheels (CAD) went up to $169 ($117 Dealer Cost). Since there is no other choice really, I'll be forking out a discounted $120 each for a set of 4 steel wheels.

I bought 4 tires at WalMart for $532.37CAD taxes in. They are the 215/55R16 Dunlop Graspic DS-1 Winter Tires (This size keeps the outer diameter and the width to stock). They are about $40 dollars cheaper per tire at walmart than other places.

The dealer that I'm ordering the wheels from will charge $12 per tire for ballancing and mounting.

The total should be something like this, all said and done(CAD):

Walmart Graspic DS-1 (215/55R16) $114.98ea. X 4 =$471.12 (incl. environment tax)
Malibu 16x6.5 Maxx Steel Wheel (PN:9594785) $120ea. X 4 =$480.00
Ballance and Mount @ GM Dealer $12ea. X 4 =$48

Subtotal: $999.12
GST: $59.95
PST(MB): $69.94
TOTAL: $1129.01 (plus gas to and from all these places)

Or, I could get a winter beater car for that much!, lol..............

im just driving my cavalier this winter, lol.

i would like to find a cheap set of steelies for the SS tho, but since the base balt is a 4 lug, and brand new steelies seem to be pricey, im not sure how ill manage that. i remember when finding 5x100 steelies for the cavalier in the winter cost like $200 or less for a full set.
