i just moved back up to the rockies (wyoming) and up until a few days ago my interest in the cobalt had all but died. but now there's a ss/sc on one of the local lots in town. its priced right i suppose. under 25k if i remember right. but the last time i talked to a dealer he was giving me some outrageous payment #s. so now im asking any and everybody, whats a reasonable monthly payment for a used ss/sc w/g85, debadged, and under 500 miles.
Don't even talk payments. That's your first and biggest mistake. Talk out the door price and then get your payments from that. If you talk payments they will bend you over on intrest and term of repayment. Also never finance from the dealer. Go to a credit union or bank.
oh yeah thas always good, but im sayn at the end of the talk right before i reached for the pen i get a look at the final figures and all of a sudden 550 a month is thrown in my face. and thas with a BIG down payment. then he got me to talk about how much i wanted and i said in my dreams im seeing 300 a month. he tells me 8000 down will do it
IT SHOULD COST YOU MORE THAN 22.5K WITH TAX WITH ONLY 500 MILES ON IT IF ITS A 06 OR NEWER, IF ITS A 05 YOU COULD EXPECT TO PAY 21K WITH ONLY 500 ON IT. iVE SEEN USED 05 'SS FOR 18K IN MICHIGAN WITH AROUND 10-15K MILES ON THEM.
yeah, you should get a deal like the above ^ ^ ^
most chevy dealers are offering 0% interest on most '06 models (cobalt i know for sure is on this list) so you shouldnt be payin $550 a month unless you have a 2 year loan or something...lol

It sounds like you're being taken. Put it this way...my car in total costed me $28000 with high interest rate and my payments are $550 a month (I don't have a Cobalt).
Go to another dealership and see what they tell you. Don't sign at the first dealership you go to. Also, remember, a dealer will do ANYTHING to get your sale. So act like you're going to go to another place and they will fight tooth and nail for your sale. They might even play with your ***** just so you buy a damn SS/SC. Car sales people are typically desperate for a sale.

I managed to walk out the door with an 07 with 630 miles and a co-signer(both credit not so great) G85 package, XM, Sunroof, Polished Wheels, and hidden Stg 2 after tax and tags for 21,700 and 435 a month. So...DO NOT EVER AGREE ON THE FIRST OFFER. I got into an argument with a salesman at one dealership about the MSRP on the vehicle being higher then I have EVER seen. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about, then the finance manager came over an told me GM marked down the MSRP's and instead of replacing all the window stickers they were giving the dealerships cash to ofset the difference. Was like 1200 or so off. You will be at the dealership for a while but make them work for it.
yikes we just got back from looking at the sticker. says no warranty. hmmm, with the problems ive been hearing about tha balt is it worth it? so far im thinking yes, especially since i dont have 2 deal with gm's stage kits (not happy with torq gains). hmmm i hear intense is nice
