My First Experience With Bracket Racing..and misshifting:(

ok i'll get into the misshifting later

anyways. first time to ever do bracket racing, no complete idea about the rules, or tactics(the braking and stuff) i just went out there and ran. i didnt expect to get past the 1st round. i won 2 rounds out of the 4! i had a dial-in of 10.45 i kept running anywhere from 10.4 to 10.6.

the first two i ran i didnt mess up or anything, i guess i just didnt put enough power down at launching, and i ended up running 10.6s, but still won. heres the part that pissed me off!
was running against a gremlin(lol) i thought to myself, hmm, i keep running 10.6s, maybe i should just pop the clutch instead of quickly easing off(bad mistake ) i ended up wheel hopping for a second, then SOMEHOW grinding going into second gear, which i have never done before. so i figure wow i messed up 2 times, i'm gonna have a slow time. WRONG!! i ran my best(ever) of 10.37 ! how in the hell he ended up breaking out too, but not as much as me. i came up to him in the staging lanes explaining how i screwed up and shook his hand and we were like good race. he even complimented my car:P

so instead of winning, i bought my girlfriend this awesome t-shirt.

yes that is MY car!

now to the sad/lucky part.
i always told myself i would never misshift, and didnt see how anyone could, its pretty straight -forward shifting. well i guess i wasnt paying much attention. it was right after i passed the time board, so i was done racing. i was at the top of third gear and had to slow down so i figured i might as well shift since i'm so close to redline. well either i put it into second(was doing about 65 or so) or something else happened, but i freaked out. luckily i had only taken my foot 1/5th the way off of the clutch before i realized something wrong. the engine got really loud and i could just feel it in the pedals so i quickly put my foot back down and put it into neutral.
no fluids or anything leaking, no loss of power(for sure...i kept running..lol..)

overall, was a fun night.

Actually I asked it because I knew the answer. You will never find anyone to back you up because you are WRONG.
