Question 2008 SS/TC rear brake issue

Hey guys, i have a question. so i replaced my rear brakes i did the caliper brackets, pads, and rotors because the inner pads had the worst amount of play and i figured that it was just due to the pads wearing into the caliper brackets but they still have pla and actually create a lot more racket.. i used all acdelco hoping that it would last alot longer.. i dont understand why the fitment is so poor, does anyone else have this issue or have any remedies to solve my issue?

Did you grease the slide pins and make sure the caliper was working ok. Did you have to compress the calipers to get them back on with the new pads?

Either you need to grease the guide pins, try and bleed the system if that fails then i would say you need new calipers

Yes i did have to rotate and compress the piston and they went in with nor problem but if you take the wheel when the car is lifted up and you watch the inner pad on each side you can watch the pad shuck back and forth in the bracket like the pad doesn't rest into the bracket as if the outside ones do it looks like the pad almost doesn't go in there but they have to because they have the little insert and they can only go in one way i lubed the pads and the slide pins but that doesn't seem to be the issue. its like there is poor fitment on the inner side of the brackets or something or the pad fitment. there is so much play in there as the outside ones are tight and yet again everything is new from my local dealership.

Im going to ask a stupid question. Are you getting in the car and pressing on the brake pedal a gew times after you are done putting it all back together ? That would make the calipers piston to come back out. Make contact with the inside pads and tighten everything up.

Sounds like to me you have a master cylinder issue.

I had this on my cavalier the seals inside the master cylinder are failing, This is why you get them and then you don't and will not see any leaks of any kind.

Hope this helps, Keep us posted

There doesn't seem to be any leaks just like the caliper doesn't keep enough pressure on the inner pad and it rattles up and down in the bracket and as soon as slightest brake pressure is applied it goes right away

Sorry I actually misread, I just reread and I would say this ^^^

I thought you physically lost and regained the braking system that is my fault. ignore my previous post about the master.

So frustrating! It sounds like my caliper is gonna fall off how hard my pads are hitting the brackets

Did you crack your bleeder when you compressed the caliper to initially take it off? When I have done mine I always did that. If you did, have you bled them several times to make sure you got all the air out. Mine wouldn't compress with opening the bleeder due to it being a closed pressurized system. If your did you may have some bad caliper Pistons or something in your system isn't right.

This may sound dumb (But i've seen it) But are your rear pads in correctly? They differ from Inner/Outer

they go the other way. The clip is supposed to be on the inside.

There's your problem
