Nice runs man, those trucks sound awesome. Also, I notice the guy you ran had his tailgate down or off, and I remember seeing the show "Mythbusters" on the Discovery channel that said it is actually more restrictive to lower the tailgate then to leave it up. I always thought no tailgate would mean better aerodynamics and thus higher speeds, but that show proved that "myth" to be wrong. A little off topic, but just some info. you might want to test out the next time you hit the track.

no tail-gate... less weight... it's a weight thing more than an areo thing... lose the gate... and spare tire... takes a good bit off...

Oh that those were my mods for the Cobalt I had! Unless you were meaning the SS/SC and not the truck?

BAHAHAH There goes the theory that Stage 2 doesn't break axles LOLOL.

Good to hear it's under warranty bro! You know Intense just released some beefier axles right?

yeah i know they got those. but i'm still kinda in a money situation right now since i just bought that navigation system. and if i can get my axles for free, or pay 750+ for better ones, i'll take the free ones. i'll put the upgraded ones on after my factory warranty goes out.

Sounds like your best bet. Don't worry man I'm broke for mods too.

I think he has:

-Volant cold air intake
-Comp cam
-Longtube headers
-Offroad/catless Y-pipe
-Corsa sport catback
-4.10 gears w/ eaton posi-track
-mail order Allen Nelson tune (HP tuners basically)

all I have so far is just a custom tune and a corsa touring catback.

His truck is ridiculously loud!!! I should have grabbed some idle vids because it seriously lopes as hard as it's LS1 big brother lol.

Man! If I had one of those trucks, the FIRST mod I would do would be swapping out the crappy stock tranny for a TH400 with a 3500 stall torque converter. I would then proceed to annialate all who opposed

A lot of people do the swap...well sort of lol. The 4L80-E is basically a TH400 with over-drive and electronic controls.

Nothin like the original though, I have a TH400 in my "73 GMC with a 3500 stall torque converter. I LOVE THAT THING!!! The funny thing is that my truck prolly puts less power to the crank than my cobalt does to the wheels, and the tranny can handle 1000 hp My dad and I decided to go over board after I blew up NOT ONE BUT TWO 700-R4s!!!! The first time was at the race track (my fault) the second time was on my way to school, I was turning left, shifted into second gear and BOOM the ring gear let go and I lost all forward gears.
