I believe its 4T45-E wouldnt know for sure since I believe the "upgraded" automatic is actually a huge downgrade on these cars, and I would never be caught dead driving one. My 5 speed LS was almost 3 seconds faster at the 1/4 mile track then my parents Auto LS.

Not with an autotrans intercepter its faster and can handle more HP look it up on the net its prety interesting.

But if I wana shift Ill fire up the camero:guns: and go fast at the same time. and I like my auto because its my gerocery getter.

Yes, it is the 4T45E

Automatics in general are typically slower than the manual versions cause they are complex and have more of a process inside the transmission than a manual, which makes them lose more power during the transfer to the wheels.

I know autos suck until you start pushing high hp numbers.

That's false actually.

An auto trans interceptor only improves your shifts by increasing your line pressure...thats it.
You'll still experience just about the same drivetrain loss as you did before.

It acualy will just because of the fact that the tc will ingage stronger and slip less making it faster in the 1/4 mile than before.

3 seconds?? Did you even take your parents balt to the track??

A stock Automatic LS Sedan runs 16.6, verified by Car & Driver, thats a long shot off from the 3 seconds you seem to think

Actually It doesnt improve the 1/4 mile ET very much, it feels more solid but it doesnt help much. To get the most out of an Autotrans Interceptor, I'd recommend poly mounts all around. I've heard many stories of Line Pressure upgrades of how it did Jack-Sh*t in the 1/4

The intercepter with some one who knows how to set the Tork Converter delay setting has shown arond 2/10 off the quartermile in a cavy so ill see how it goes on a cobalt.

Take it from someone who HAS owned a car with it, there isn't much adjusting you need to do. It just makes your transmission shifter harder and more solid...thats it! You're not setting your "torque converter delay setting"...I don't even know what that means.

Thanks for the spelling leson:lol: but if you take the back cover off the autotrans intercepter theres a second setting you can mess with it is the TC delay it changes the time that it takes the TC to fully lock some one told me that stock is like 5 seconds?

No, no. There is no time specific delay to converter lock. It is torque specific and controlled electronically by the TCM. HP Tuners allows you much better control of the 4T45E tuning parameters.
