...shave the wing? Put me down. I've never been a fan of wings. On some cars, it looks good or decent, but I've always been for clean and sleak. Tint, lowered, wheels/rims and a shaved wing. Now that's drool worthy. :D What do you think?

Definitely not looking good...there was a photoshopped Cobalt I saw without the wing, lowered with some rims...I about fell over. I'll throw it up on my ftp and post a link. It's beautiful!

Did you watch the videos yet? Pretty clear how the wing will look in them. But, for me, as I said, all wings must go! I'm just a wing nazi, I guess.

It looks good with and without.... I'll see but I think I will just keep it. Definitely a cop attractant though, although I guess so is a top speed of 230+ kmh that will HAVE to be tested out at least once! :mrgreen:

i think i would change he wing. Of course maybe the wing isn't as bad a you think. I'll have to wait till i see it in person.

And if you think about it. Your going to have holes in your trunk and then you have to sand it fill it and paint it. ON A BRAND "NEW" CAR!!!!!

brand new or not that wing looks waaay to ricey! I wouldn't even pickup the car with it---they would have to take it off after I agree to buy!

They should leave leather as an option and the wing. I hate paying for crap I do not want. Cars are not nearly as customizable as years ago--now they are almost always the same.

Thats true. You shouldnt be charged for something you dont want, but I think there's a limit to that. If you go and buy a new video game do you tell them you only want the game and NOT THE PACKAGE. I think they charge you for it no matter what. "ITS JUST HOW IT COMES" Thats just what I think, and im not baggin.

I have heard they do this to cut down on combonations of a car that can be bulit. By having only 6 or so possible combonations it would increase your chances of findiong on on a local dealers lot.

On top of that a dealer must think about the colours too.

It won't keep me from getting the Cobalt SS...and it's really a minor thing to have done. So I'm not complaining. I just think it looks a lot cleaner without one.

Im pretty sure if they have two options for wing you can change them if you bother them a bit, personally I love how this looks

I like both of the wings available for the cobalt. Nobody liked the high profile wing for the redline until it came out. It actually looks good now that people have seen it from different angles, and not just one. Give it a chance, and if you don't like it, shave it.

No dealership is going to take the wing off and pay for the trunk to be shaved and repainted, just so you buy the car. If that's a good reason not to buy a car, sadly, some people would only settle for taking public transportation.

sorry i hella like the ss s/c wing, its deffinetly staying. but deffinatly get rid of the bowtie, and cobalt, keep the ss s/c emblems and your set.

First off I'm not usually a fan of big wings, and that has been my only reservation with the cobalt ss. But after following one for 40 miles I think the wing fits very well with the car, and it's not as big as you really think it is. I'm waiting to see what RKsport comes up with for a replacement wing. I believe that they make most of their wings fit the factory holes.
I definitely wouldn't shave the wing off a brand new car and have it repainted. I agree that the massive bowtie has to go off the rear.........

If you don't like the wing, find a young kid with a base model and swap trunk lids. SCC did this when they flat-blacked their STI project car. Just make sure to exchange the lock cylinder too - they forgot and the guy had to come back. :)

i think the wing is part of the car...ive grown attached to it....someday 30 years from now were gonna be like i remember i had a car and it ran on gas...and are kids are gonna be like whats gas and were gonna be like it came out of the ground in the middle east and there gonna be like whats that.....anyway the wing is gonna be part of the redline and the cobalts heritage someday
