The interesting sentence in this recent review says:
"it's clear more muscle can be had from the LSJ, and the performance guys ARE putting together a kit to boost power to about 230hp."
So the author is saying that GM WILL HAVE a performance upgrade kit for our cars. And hopefully it will be 230 at the wheels  . I just hope it isn't too expensive. If Gm makes kits, I will buy them instead of aftermarket to keep my warranty good.

I would rather wait and see what else they can do. I'd like at least 270whp.

You won't see that from GM. :( They can't do that kind of power and keep the warrenty.

I also 'hope' that the 230 is actually at the GM "rated" crank hp, so that would put us around 240 at the wheels! :cssNET:

hey dont be surprised to see an even bigger performance package from GM, I beleive in one of the car and drivers i have they were covering a GM Performance Cobalt SS and it was a stage 5 (5 being for 500 horses!!!). I dont know how long it will be but i am sure that GM will use the knowledge they have gained from messing with that car in a number of different upgrades.
I recieved an email from GM right after I bought my SS, saying that they are releasing "stages" for the supercharger and that stage 2-3 range from 240-285 hp. With intake and exhaust and a few other goodies I'll be 300+ hp by next summer. :-D

correct me if im wrong, but i had always assumed that your whp would be lower then your bhp, because in essence, the bhp is at the crank, and it looses "some" in its route to the wheels?

i only read the first post but i have read somewhere that GM will be adding a turbocharger to the 2.0 liter ecotech engine with the supercharger. i herd this will take place in 2007 and they have already produced and tested about nine of them. i dont remember stats because i read this months ago but i think it will be sick.

I think maybe he was poking fun at the fact that the motor in the SS is under rated
from the factory already...
I think people are putting down between 200-220WHP ? someone correct me if im wrong.
Rating from the factory is what ? 205 at the crank ?

I wish that magazines would list there 60ft times. Low 14's @ 100mph could easily traslate into high 13's in the mid to high 90's.
