want a lil drop

aight guys, i never really thought much of dropping the balt until i saw one in the area that looked really damn good after being lowered...

i been running through alot of threads reading different things and looking at everybodies cars but now i can't figure out which route to take. Since my car is only used for daily driving and rarely does it see the track (maybe 1 time a season) i dont see the need for coils and i think springs will suite me just fine...

what im looking for is something to give me a little more of an aggresive stance however i dont want to be huggin the ground nor do i want to change the ride of the car much from how it is stock. any recommendations from you guys? just from what i have read it appears that the ssc springs might be what im looking for but i would like input incase i am not aware of other springs that might be better suited. thanks.. any pics of before/after would be great to

Get the ssc springs from zzp. They are a good spring and they dont drop the car to much.

Here is a before and after my car. Lowered it with Eibach springs. 1"front 1.3"rear.

These springs have treated me well. The SSC springs are the same drop.

It makes a huge difference when you lower the car.

Yeah it does. Cobalts look sooo sexy lowered. It's a whole new look.

Plus if you go with the Eibachs or the SSC springs it's just enough of a drop to look awsome and give you a good ride.

yea.. what i saw this morning looked good as hell.. it wasnt dropped a ton but the car looked way more aggresive with the drop.. i just want to get some input this time through..

i dropped my fox body 5.0 a few years back and man that **** is huggin the ground and its to low for me.. i scrape everything i come in contact with.

springs + tints is what i am planning atm because it looks so good.. now i just gotta figure out which % and what springs.. atm im learning towards the SSC just because the price is so rediculous if the quality is that good...

now camber kits/new shock/struts will not be needed with these correct? i dont want to deal with all that..

My wheels were perfectly aligned when I installed these. Camber kits are not needed with the ssc springs. There is a thread on here for the ssc springs by denny, he has some good pics and I havent heard one person say somethin negative about the springs. Wait on sec i'll try to find the link for you.

No, no new struts. You can keep your stockers. My car has been droped for a while now and no issues.

I do recomend getting an Ingalls camber kit.

This will help with uneven tire wear.

With the ssc springs I had the car aligned and he said my car is sitting perfect. There was no need for a camber kit.

Wait untill your springs settle my friend. The alignment is done with fresh springs. Give it a month and the car is technicaly sitting at a different ride height. I'm good friends with a suspension GURU and he brought that fact up to me. A camber kit is the best $17.00 you can spend.

It' gives you adjustablility for $17.00

So after the springs settle, you adjust and wha lah, no uneven tire wear ever.

Yeah it's nothing dramatic it's just if you slack a little on rotating tires this will help.
F-it it's only $17.00 right? Yeah keep an eye out. Later bro.....

I'm probably going to stick with Eibach Sportlines. I have their Pro-kit on my cavy and they sagged from 1.5ish (day of install) to about 2.5 inches all around. (about 2 months later, or so) I never got it aligned, even to this day lol. I have ZERO tire wear, I think the drop fixed my alignment lol.

Talking Sportlines Vs. Pro-Kit

Hey guys/gals

i'm looking to lower mine, and i live in michigan, so roads here aren't that great.
any of you guys scrape bad with the sportline kit? or if i get the pro-kit, will it sag like half-an-inch more later on?

thanks!

The best springs I have seen are the ones on my Balt. I got the HHR kit with camber adjusts. This lowers the car 1.5 in the front and only a little in the back. They are stiff and help the handleing a lot. It also gives the car a nice rake like a real sports car should have. I think the eibach sport lines lower it too much and it looks a little too ricer.
