I've recently ordered an 07' SS/SC and added the LSD option. After reading these forums, I just about blew a gasket with my dealer sales rep. concerning the seats that will arrive with the car...... Recaros' are of no interest to me. Given that there was no mention of a G85 pkg. when the LSD option was selected, can I assume that this is offered in the U.S. only? Perhaps a fellow Canuck can fill me in on this one.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

they ditched the Recaros in 07. meaning ur paying 1500 bucks for just a lsd, instead of lsd and seats.

 

Thanks for the confirmation. $1500 for a limited slip? ........a little high but what da ya do? Aparrently, the seats are now heated as well (a $350 credit in previous years). With my previous vehicle, the LSD was $800CDN and a bitch to install.........so it's worth it for me.

Side note: I e-mailed GM Canada the other day to get a confirmed date on the engine mapping for the 07' stage 2. I should have an answer tommorow. My dealer quoted me $950 for the parts and 5hours for the install!! 5 hours? retards?

 

From the manufacturer direct the LSD is $1,500 US + install and after the fact from the dealership is $3,300 US + install. Also the heated seats were never an option on the 05 or 06 SS S/C.

 

The LSD option (for 07) cost me $1542.00 CDN complete. Heated seats were not available in (06) as you stated, but here at least, you would receive a $350 credit.

It's worth noting that after researching/test driving different vehicles before my purchase, I was suprised at the differences between U.S. and Canadian variants of the same platform. Apart from the obvious bumper, lighting and metric issues, the option pkg's varried greatly along with the (adjusted) price in some cases. I seriously considered crossing the border and purchasing an STI.............Canada $49,000..........U.S. $35,000!? Too much red-tape.

At any rate, my Cobalt comes in @ $31, 400CDN with the stage 2 integrated into the financing.
