I had the same problem on my 17"s on my cavy. I got "Dustless" ceramic pads from Autozone, great stopping power and i only had to clean my wheels every other week, and that wasn't from brake dust either.

UGH! I know its horrible from the factory brakes! But BlackyK beat me to it, just replace the pads. Brake dust goes away and you can get better pads for better stopping power.

buy the dust cover. i personally think they look weird. but you can get them in colors. they go on before your rims and stop alot of the dust. but the inside gets extra nasty

Just an FYI: Usually higher performance pads and rotors create a lot of brake dust and noise because usually people who want performance do not worry about those two things. It should just be accepted as an inevitability when you buy performance brakes.

I am not saying that you have performance brakes, I just wanted to put that little bit of info out there

Autozone sells a protective spray that repells brake dust. I just saw it last night, thought about getting it but I passed mabey try that and tell us if it works or not.

Exactly. The stock pads kick some wicked brake dust. All you can do is wax your wheels untill it comes time to get new pads. Just go aftermarket at that time.

Anyone try GM ceramic pads? I put them on my daughters Malibu and they get almost no Brake dust. I am thinking of putting a set on my cobalt.
