Badges..

Why in the hell do people debadge cars. It looks stupid as hell. We all know in 30 years if we ever see this car driving up and down the road you'd think it'd be cool as ****. When you guys look at muscle cars from 30 years ago, and they have all their factory badges on it, how much better does it make the car look. Debadging a car is seriously garbage IMHO. Besides, who could ever take an "SS" badge off of a car, lol. Sorry for the rant, just wondering opinions..

Some people do it for a smoother look. If I had SS badges, I would keep those, but everything else could go. Not everyone likes having badges on their car. I haven't done enough exterior stuff for it to matter.

I personally just took the gold bow-tie off of the trunk....I left the cobalt SS and the supercharged badge. The bow-tie was just to big and gold, and looked to cluttered with the other badges. But I won't take off the other badges, I like people knowing what I have

My car is an ls but it just says Cobalt on the back. Came like that and I like it hella better than than with the ls. People wonder what kind of Cobalt I really have. I plan on taking the side molding off soon though. That shyt's gay.

ppl shave their cars now because badges now adays are huge gaudy and takcy.... you see the same badge on a sht load of cars, or same lettering.... back in the muscleera every car had its own badge,... badges were more complex and oiginal than plain silver letters... im actully thinking of taKING the cursive "Chevrolet" badge off an old camaro, would add more class IMO

Why the hell do you care what people do with their car? Mind your own business.

By the way the big golden bowtie looks like crap on the rear of these cars, that's why I took it off. Gold+sunburst orange=tacky

I agree with you 100%.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that there have always been some muscle car guys who de-badge although I never have been in favor of it. They say they like the "cleaner" look. Whatever. If I want a cleaner look, I just wash my car. Nowadays there are some builders like Chip Foose and Troy Trapanier who de-badge their cars, but I still prefer them properly badged. Its a matter of preference I guess.

I have my car debadged except the rear chevy emblem (too much of a pain to take off lol) and where the front chevy emblem was, I have the SS emblem.

looks cleaner, and most people judge a cars trim by badges. thus, if you have a performance car they can not tell the difference

That's why we pop our hoods at shows. SS guys have something to show off under there, especially the supercharged guys with stage kits.

I don't like too much badging. Having an LT badge won't make the car any different in judging than having an LS badge, so take it off. Unless the car has the SS badge, badging doesn't matter.

And whats bitching about what other people do to their cars going to solve? nothing. You modify your car to your liking, other people modify to theirs.

When you start making my car payments for me, I'll put on whatever badges you want.

I don't like the Chevy emblem and I hate the GM on the side. Glad my 05 didn't come with them.

No badges with a low-pro spoiler... pure sleeper.... you'd scare the **** out of Honda boys when that super starts to whine!
