im starting to notice some swril marks in my paint more so on the hood then anywere else i know there maguaries swril 2.0 but i cant seem to find that anywere in toronto anyone use anythign else to reduce the swril makrs and pervent more!

you could order some from Autobarn.com thats where i usually order my stuff when i cant find it in the store. I also use a buffer to.....seems to help with the swirl marks

Factory paint? There's so much orange peel on our cars anyway. If you polish and buff the clear coat the swirls will go away.

i wax and buf my car all the time but im going to try it again and see what happens just sucks hwo bad this gm paint is...

swirls come from the tiny dirt particles that are still on your car afte you wash. they are stuck on the hood. you can see them on an aplicator pad after applying a new coat of wax. best way to help rid yourself of the problem is to claybar the car and then use a cleaner/scratch remover wax and then polish and then wax.

Here are some before and after pics on my dad's jeep. I did a half-n-half sort of thing practicing getting swirl marks out. I will still need to make a few more passes to get rid of the more stubborn swirl marks since my polish is a little weak, but you can still see a pretty big difference:

That was only one pass...two passes later the swirls were gone. :)

you can sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on the wax just before you use a buffer and that helps git rid of swirls... i've done that to every car i have owned. never a problem with clear coats, it sounds crazy to do that, but it works...

I can understand that. It's a mild abrasive when mixed with polish...same thing with specific swirl remover waxes

Another cool thing about Baking soda is you can add it to your wash bucket to negate/dilute the effects of acid rain on your clearcoat. :)
