Are you just regrinding the stock cams? If so how are you increasing the lift and/or duration? This sounds very tempting. Is there a dyno chart somewhere to prove any gains? I would want them ground from new billet cores, and I would need 2 sets of them. I will wait a while to make a final decision. This also sounds like a warranty killer.

I'm on the fence about it...do you have to reflash the ecu? How does that work?

I know G5mike had some small issues with his install, even though he has the 2.4L. He did say he had great results though.

I'm thinking hard on this too but I wish I knew how big of a difference it would be with my mods.

There is a slight increase in lope. However, it might be hard to tell especially with an exhaust that you have cams in there at idle.

Personally, the JBP valve springs would be sufficient enough for me. I don't plan on increasing my rev limiter pass the 7200 mark that it is at now and don't want to have to replace the retainers, etc. I'm just a little nervous with the getting the cams and not valve springs and still running a 7200 rev limiter so thats why I am interested. I think your site says $289 for the valve springs, not sure though. What would you be able to do package A for, would you be discounting the valve springs at all?

Package A is what I'm assuming we're looking for. I don't know if I could swing the Bates or Ferrea price wise with the cams. Maybe if we got 11+, but that's doubtful. I would love to be able to build a solid valvetrain, but I was just planning on having a full P&P head built and installed when I built my own engine block up in the future. This kinda screws with my plans...

The nice things about these springs is that they are ready to rock using the stock valvetrain AND only require minor head modification. Again, this is only for those who purchase cams in conjunction with the GP.

If anyone needs installation tools, (cam gear holding tool, spring compressor tool), we have them available for rental/purchase.

You're not going that far into the engine... Those parts don't get touched. (unless you're taking the head off for other reasons). As for gaskets, everything gets reused as far as a cam change goes...

It takes about 2-3 Hours to swap out cams (with the camshaft holding tool). It takes a good solid 6-7 hours to do a chassis spring installation (with the in-car chassis spring compressor). Thats with someone who knows what their doing.

I strongly recommend that everyone allows a performance shop/dealer to do the install.

JBP's regrind is virtually the exact same "quality" as a new grind, dont waste your money and about the warranty, duh

You'll see better power gains with the Stage 2 or any other mods that you may have over being stock. And you can still rev up to 7K, anything over that and they recommend changing the valve springs.

Alright. You have two options.

1) Grind from new cams

Customers who choose option (1) will have to pay $220CDN in combination to the final GB price for the new blank camshafts. They will NOT have to send back their stock cores if they choose not to. If they choose to send their old stock cams back, they will receive $75CDN cash in their pocket for doing so. The Triflow grind will be put on brand new billets.

2) Grind from stock cores

Customer who choose this option (2) will have chosen to have the TriFlow grind put on stock camshafts. We have a healthy supply of stock cores. The customer will pay the new camshaft core charge of $220CDN and we will ship the TriFlow ground cams. When the customer sends their old stock camshafts back, we will reimburse the $220CDN in full. The reason for the core charge is to provide incentive for customers to return cores and to do so in a timely manner. Even at this price, a lot of customers still choose to keep their stock cams, dwindling out stock cam core supply.

I highly recommend option #2. a) It's the cheaper option, b) there's no difference with our triflow grind between new/reground cams c) we have enough stock cams in stock to supply the demand.

thats being safe, when i did cams on my sunfire, i got 35 extra hp, wiht tuning, so u could very likely see 30 to 40 hp, 20 hp is a very shitty tune, and not taking advantage of a better quicker rev

I agree with both, g5mike and sunfirejoe, 20 hp is a pretty conservative estimate on how much hp is going to be gained with these cams. Hopefully when g5mike gets his car dynoed with the cams on that will help to not only boost interest, but also back up the products performance gains.

Option 1 is getting brand new billet cams ground for you and Option 2 is using stock cores and getting them grinded, they are really similar and just personal preference. Option 1 will be additional for the new billet ones though.

Installation is about 2-2.5 hours. So call shop and see what they charge and hour.

You pay the extra as the total cost when the GB ends and everyone else pays their remaining balance, then when you send back your stock ones (if you do) you will get a refund of $66 USD.

Okay guys, We can reduce the price to $259CDN ($227USD) for the JBP springs. (Package A). The nice things about these springs is that they are ready to rock using the stock valvetrain AND do not require head modification. Again, this is only for those who purchase cams in conjunction with the GP.

If anyone needs installation tools, (cam gear holding tool, spring compressor tool), we have them available for rental/purchase.

Ive searched. can someone specify what the difference in Option 1 and Option 2 is

Option 1 is getting the cams ground from new billet cores for an additional charge of $220. Option 2 is getting the cams ground from stock cores that JBP has already, then when you receive your cams you send in your stock ones and they refund you $220 which you will pay in addition to the GB price when you purchase the cams. Check page 6 of this thread, JBP explains it there too.

Alright. You have two options.

1) Grind from new cams

Customers who choose option (1) will have to pay $220CDN in combination to the final GB price for the new blank camshafts. They will NOT have to send back their stock cores if they choose not to. If they choose to send their old stock cams back, they will receive $75CDN cash in their pocket for doing so. The Triflow grind will be put on brand new billets.

2) Grind from stock cores

Customer who choose this option (2) will have chosen to have the TriFlow grind put on stock camshafts. We have a healthy supply of stock cores. The customer will pay the new camshaft core charge of $220CDN and we will ship the TriFlow ground cams. When the customer sends their old stock camshafts back, we will reimburse the $220CDN in full. The reason for the core charge is to provide incentive for customers to return cores and to do so in a timely manner. Even at this price, a lot of customers still choose to keep their stock cams, dwindling out stock cam core supply.

I highly recommend option #2. a) It's the cheaper option, b) there's no difference with our triflow grind between new/reground cams c) we have enough stock cams in stock to supply the demand.
