I'm Sick of This "Searching"...
Alright, honestly, I'm searching, looking, asking.. I'm getting a million answers.
There is so much out there available for the SS/SC, but I do not know what I need to buy nor how to use it..
I see people have 2.6, 2.8, 2.9'' pulley's, injectors, belts, etc. etc..
I want more power.. a bit more..
I go to buy Stage 2, I see I can go with something better and cheaper..
If I buy a 2.8 or 2.9'' pulley, I know I need bigger injectors, but how big? I know I need a GM Stage-2 re-flash..
Do I also need a custom tune? Do I need to buy a MAFT unit? Spark plugs?
If I get big 55lb. injectors, will it hurt the car?
I am just so full with frustration.. and where the hell do I buy these items? I'm just lost and just empty..

If you want to stay safe, going with the GM stg2 would be your best bet. That would include your 3" pulley, re-flash to raise the rev limiter to 7K, smaller belt, and 42lb injectors. If you decided to upgrade from there, the safest pulley that you could go with would be the 2.9" before you should get bigger injectors to compensate.
You don't need to upgrade your plugs until you step up your pulley more then the Stg2. As far as getting a seperate tune goes, that can be done at any time for gains. Just be careful who you go to and let them know that you prefer better safe then sorry. You don't want to be too lean. If you go with a smaller pulley then the Stg2 I would def. suggest a tune. Hope this helps a bit.

sounds good.. thanks..
what about getting bigger injectors , say 60lb'ers just to start, and going with a 2.9'' pulley, and a Stage-2 flash? will that work??
and will i need a custom tune? or would a tune help out?

if you want better than stage 2 you better be willing to say screw your warrenty what gm fanatik said is the most you can do as far as injectors and pulleys before the dealership will start telling you everything is void. id say look at tag cobalt addiction and intense they all provide nice kits that produce good gains with everything you need. i have intense stage 4 and im still running strong no probs so far. start looking at those vendors they are all very good to work with as well.
No one said that you have to do crazy mods all at once. The best part of modding is one thing at a time, this way you know you're being safe with the motor also.
You're gonna need a tune either way with the 60's, but if you go that route before anything else, then you will DEFINITALY need a tune. There is nothing wrong with starting off simple, such as the GM Stg2 then moving up from there, which is what I did. Get the stg2, then go with a smaller pulley when ready, throw an intake in their somewhere, make sure you get them bigger injectors to compensate for whatever smaller pulley you go with.
You don't have to get the 60's either, I believe Cobaltperformanceparts has smaller increments in between the sizes, so you have more options there also. It's all in what you want. Big immediate gains, you still want to keep the warranty, motor work first or just and intake or just exhaust, ect. ect...Good luck man, and keep them questions coming, better safe then sorry.

i appreciate it guys.. as far as an intake, i have the AEM, and i'm really happy with it..
I just wasn't sure how big to go for injectors and what is safe.. i think i'm going to wait for spring to purchase a Stage-2 upgrade, and go from there.. I'm sure i'll be more than happy..
I just want to play it safe and not ruin my car.. its not worth it to me.. and the thing is i don't have thousands to spend to modify this thing.. i'd rather buy a house and have a nice car( which I do)..
So, Stage-2 it is.. and a tune afterwards it is.. thanks a lot guys, big help..

I understand your confusion. Please allow me to help.
There is a common misconception that the simply addition of a single kind of part will make an improvement. An example of this NOT being true would be bigger injectors. If you simply add bigger injectors without re-tuning your computer, you will actually run worse and ruin your engine.
It sounds like you want to improve your superchargers output based on your post. There are 3 ways of doing that that I know of. First and easiest, the GM stage 2 upgrade. It is a full kit, fully warrantied, and either the dealer, or anybody else, can install it. Very simple and about 40 more horsepower.
The second is to the exact same thing except in the aftermarket. Instense for instance sell a variety of similiar upgrade packages. You would not do a GM stage upgrade and then also do an aftermarket upgrade. It would be doing to same thing twice. The typical trade off with going aftermarket is you get better gains (some of the intense packages boast 80 more horsepower), but at the loss of your warranty.
Lastly is the do-it-your-selfer project. This is where you go buy the parts individually and take on the project of tuning it yourself. You get HP Tuners software, the pulley and belt, the bigger injectors and colder plugs, and you get to work. The draw back to this is you will have to spend a lot more money (specifically on the tuning), more time (obtaining and installing all the parts), and perhaps not get any more gains then you would have with the above options. The fun is that you did it all yourself, and know exactly what is going on under that hood of yours when you see the tach racing toward redline at WOT.
Hope that helps.

Sure does; I appreciate all the comments and replies guys.. thanks a bunch.. I know my fair share about cars; but damn, this little one has me scratching my head all the damn time.. i'm scared to do something and ruin it.. its brand new.. i'm just so careful with my belongings cause' it burns to pay and see something ruined..
Yep, Stage-2 it is for me.. and I understand being smart with it. Its a very tough whip I might add; extremely touchy as well, very unlike my previous P5.. as for hotties, i got one.. and its all I need..
on a side note, someone bought my old Protege5..
and he's always bombin' around in it.. after all the care and hard-work i did to it..
