The car is a piece of crap!
Okay, now I've got the teams attention.
How come this site was all about the sedan when there
was no 2 door or SS. Now it's like 2 door heaven around here.
I need feedback people. Are you all paying attention?
This car has major issues going on. From Cheesy cheap ass
seating material that in mine, ever seat the material is
feathering/ No my rotor in the front on the car
have to be replaced after 17K because they warped.
Wipers are having issues. Calling the Stereo a upgraded on
but it has no EQ in it other than Bass and Treble (does
anyone know of aftermarket units that can still be controlled
by the steering wheel controller? I'd love one that actually
has ass!) Are you Fricking Kidding me. Chevy is big time paying
for this. Let alone my Dealer is fricking worthless (it's been
2 months and still no new seat material and they are having
me drive this car and the whole front end shakes like hell
everytime I apply the brakes. This is total bunk!
Don't buy a Cobalt from Anderson Chevrolet in Maryland.
They must of got all the LEMONS!and this is my 2nd car from them.
The last one was a Cavy that was the GREAT! Made it to 280K miles
with the original exhaust and battery. And the interior was road
worthy. Never had warped rotors....Chevy need a recall to give
everyone an interior worth $19K. That what my sedan LS cost
me when it's all said and done.
Oh and yesterday we got rain and guess what???, I have a leak
in the rear passenger door because the floor was wet and
killed a couple CD's on the floor. Nice huh?
I can't believe no one else has issues? You've got to
be kidding me people or you're just not watching your
car fall apart around you.
So far I'm totally disappointed with this car. It looks good
on the outside, but the inside is per plastic cheap junk.
I'd love to take all the chevy emblems off the car. Does
anyone know how to remove them?

There is no way your cavy interior was nicer than the cobalts. I've owned 2 cavs I know this.
Im sorry to hear about your problems though, tell em you want an SS for the stress.
My radio on the SS has EQ's. There's an "EQ" button.
Have you taken off your wheel or has the dealer? Improper torque on the lug nuts can cause rotor warping.
There have been a few with the leaking window issue and it is covered under warrenty.
Get serviced by another dealer, small town dealerships tend to treat their customers better.

Dude, you really should consider less coffee during the day. Perhaps a switch to some form of mild narcotic would make the world better
warped rotors eh? well this can happen on ANY car and is not unherad of.
My wifrs 00 Grand Am GT has the same problem and there was a TSB concerning this. It was fixed under warranty. No more problem.

yeah warped rotors happen often. I have driven a 98 cavalier for the past 2 years and before that my family has owned it since 99. i'm really used to it, and when i first saw the cobalt's interior over a year ago i though, 'that is going to be hard to get used to.' i dont think that the cobalt's interior is crapy looking, just different than the cavalier's. I'd say with that price you payed, you should be getting more; or just be happier. the 4 door thing,... how long have you been on this site? it was sedan haven because that was all that was out then. now all the ss line up is being produced and everyone is buying a cobalt. that and the website is cobaltss.net, not cobaltlssedan.net. not trying to flame you, just pointing out the obvious.
First, have you ever thought of switching to decaf? Alright, look find another dealer. If your rotors keep warping they are not performing the proper proceedure for lateral run out. A compatent GM Tech should be able to fix this problem. Water leaks, yes the earlier models had some problems with this. The bass and treble are all you need to adjust on your head-unit.( Mid range frequancies are your constant, you are only raising or lowering your bass and treble in comparison to this point (Mid-range). Aftermarket head units that will work with your steering wheel controls, check with either Pioneer or Sony (can't remember who had interface kits for GM steering wheel controls), one may have a kit avalaible for their head-units. A decent Dealership should be able to special order your seat covers and install them for you. It may take awhile for them to come in, so be patiant, (refer back to first sentance). FYI, you should not be leaveing CD's on your floor, they do make very handy cases now.
Quit riding your brakes grandma, only thing that will cause prematurely warped rotors is you heating them up. Heat em up and and park it without letting them properly cool and they will warp. Jam on your brakes and hold em and you'll warp your rotors. Not properly breaking in your brakes for the first 1,000 miles can cause premature warping. Brakes are an easily wearable item that have to be broken in, taken care of, and inspected often for proper operation.
im with timdang here.. maybe if you dont drive the car so hard and quit slamming on the brakes, you wont have warped rotors. and if anderson chevrolet gets all the lemons, wouldnt that mean your cavy would have been a peice of **** too? pay attention champ, maybe you wont get flamed for making stupid comments
Dispelling your myth
Okay/// looky here peeps.
I'm out here telling you this because I want people to know what's going. All you ******* with your 2 doors wannabe coffee canned rice burner turned supposite race car. Shut da F up. Your 2 door is not the same car as my LS Sedan with upgrades and if your a SS perrson. God bless ya! I'd a bought it too, but they weren't shipping yet and I really needed a car now.
For, the run down. I'm not granma lead foot holding the brake down. This happed as a result of the Idiot dealer cleaning my brakes (as he called it) at 7K miles. Secondly, I don't speed up and then jam on the brakes. I also don't drink too much coffee. However, I do have a poison pen for "Jay and Silent Bob-ing your ass". So watch your step with the point fingers horseshit here. More importantly, I don't care how many Cavy's you owned.
That car was great in comparsion to holding up to this one, when I bought the cavy on the showroom floor in 1997 and it made it until I traded it Jan 31, 2005. I at least EXPECTED with the NICE looking INTERIOR on this Colbalt for it to hold up remotely the same as the Cavy. If yours didn't, I don't give a ****. My did, enough said.
Now, on the seat cover issue. The dealer did order the driver side only cover. Of course I had to call them when the rest of the seats started do the same feathering thing. It's okay, talk amongst yourselves on this and walk to you cars after 40 days and start looking at your seat and tell me if little ***** of material are starting to form on the fabric. That's the issue here. That never happened in the Cavy because the seat covers were a heavier damask material the stood up to "um, getting in and out of the car". Also I'm not some lard ass, I'm slender and don't have a J-Lo booty.
It's taken the dealer 3 months to get the seat covers in. They came in last friday. Now I'm off to get the **** handled. I'm tell you all of this because if it becomes a prob for
you, step up and complain to GM. Because this is the only way RECALLS happen.
So remember that.

OK everyone needs to let him be pissed if he wants.... if it was your car with warped rotors, leaking windshield, ect, ect you wouldnt be saying ok i'll just drink decaf and chill.... you would eb pissed too.... and if you arernt then you have no pride in what you spend money on.
As for the complainer..... dont ever expect to come on here and be completely against the car the site is made about.... you must be on something.... thats like a gay basher going to a gay pride website DUHHHH
Sounds like the rotors were your fault... but who knows on that and things like the leak suck.... but they happen with all cars and all makes

With this being the 1st year the car is being made you have to expect problems. I know that they shouldn't happen but there is always some small problems with cars, new and old. I'd be pissed off too if that would happen to my car but depending on the size of the dealership you can't expect them to drop what they're doing to service you. Just be patient and they'll do what they can, if not try another dealership or get a hold of GM.
And I agree with Chevy4life, that it's not cool to come on a Cobalt message board and talk **** about 2 doors just because you have a 4 door. Yea there are probably more 2 doors than 4 doors right now but if you want help these people are the only 1's right now that could give you any ideas. SO you shouldn't get on their bad sides right away and then ask for their help.

I don't know what's wrong with this guys' car, but my Cobalt is still rock solid after 3600 miles. Rotor warpage is either you coming on to the brakes way too hard from like 80 or the idiots at the garage overtorqued the lugnuts (this was stated before). When my brother was still going to tech school, he overtorqued the lugnuts on a 92 Lumina Euro 3.1 sedan with the aluminum rims... they were so warped after that, you could see it on the brake lathe (he tried to turn them to put on his 93 Cutlass
As for Cavaliers, so you had one... yay. I've had 7. (1991, 1988, 1984, 1996, 1999, 1998 and 1985)... All had their quirks, but even the rusty ones ran right up to and past 200,000 miles. As for brakes, well, I had my share of warpage... Coming down from 90mph in a short amount of time, I have no bitch about that. Where I live, and the hours I was working, it was possible for periods of over-the-limit banzai runs home from work. As for the interiors holding up; they didn't look as nice, but the fabric was really burly and strong. I am having misgivings about my drivers seat as I am 300lbs... (yeah, I know... lose some fat ass! I am working on it...
On a completely rhetorical note, does anyone have any idea what VIN #'s leak, or is this a hit or miss thing?
Scott
