Muffler Mod..

Just was wondering if anyone has moved the exhuast placement to in front of the drivers side tire? I can imagine you sure would lose alot of weight in turn. I'm already running my CobaltSSN/A without a muffler and have had no troubles as of yet with the police and noise regulations .

I know you may have to place a heat shield over the fuel lines also but I look at the wieght savings over all.. A peice of exhuast pipe 2 and a half feet long weighs alot trust me. Sorry if this has been asked before couldnt find a post..

So you want to run a side exit out the front of the fron tire? That would be so annoying loud, you will be loosing more than your gaining power wise.

hmm

Loud schmoud...hehe it sounds great now.. At least none will want a ride in it, (saving weight again. Soo due to the shortened exhuast I will lose performance? I have found my car is much more responsive without the stock muffler.. More info required please as to why and whatever..

me and a friend of mine cut off my muffler, but to put a a flowmasters or magna flow on, nad we went down to the store after we had cut my muffler off and they were lcosed, so I had to drive around without a muffler, its the most annoying worst idea EVER, how can you stand it?

Ive got a dynomax on there now nad it sounds great and looks good, but I also have an ss/sc maybe thats why?

I had done this in my Grand Am (Except one coming out from each side). Do it right though. Go and get one of the Stage 3 Roush Exhaust tips (They are sqaure and blend into the sideskirts so it looks like it should be there, not just hanging out below the car. This means you will have to cut the sideskirts also. Make sure that you follow the curves of the underside of your car and not make the pipes the lowest point on the car). Just a heads up... It will be much louder, especially inside the car. It looks good if you do it right. And for a muffler, just use an oval Borla muffler, or some type of oval one that you can stick right after the pipes. Somthing similar in design to the GMPP muffler. Good luck, if you have any questions, just let me know. It really isnt that hard of a project and can look really good.

The new Roush exhausts don't go through the side so don't look for a side tip for a new Mustang. You'll have to look at the last body style.

Yea, but I mean one similar to that. I wouldn't buy the one straight from Ford if nothing but the fact that they wanted almost $250 just for the tip. You can find them cheaper online.
