i got my car back. apparently it was my gas cap
so to all that suggested that.

i dont really see how it would give me a CEL though. last time my cgas cap was messed up, my DIC said check gas cap. i took it to the dealer and they replaced it. but this time it gives me a CEL?

The fuel system works on a pressurized system. So if theres a leak in the system it won't deliver fuel well enough.

 

yup small leak could be pin hole sized to set off a CEL

 

Same happened to me, when my cap was loose the DIC told me, the next time it was my CEL...

 

I had to take my car to the dealer over that situation and they had to replace my gas cap under warranty. it was like the cap would just loosen up or something by itself, pissed me off

 

Yea, I was on my way to Peoria when all the sudden my CEL came on. I had been driving for almost an hour since I put gas in it when it came on....I pulled in to work, put my cap back on and low-and-behold the CEL went away.

 

I was pretty sure thats what it was... After a couple times of gettin the CEL light, i've learned to double check to make sure its on their right.
