Ok I searched, and didn't find poo poo :(
Whats a good Spark Dwell to have for a car running a 2.6" pulley? I believe I'm still workin off the stock spark dwell table. The car runs fine, but when I did that search I saw Robs thread on spark dwell, but it kinda ended abruptly.

Thanks for the help :cssNET:

Spark dwell is something you normally do not need to touch unless you are having spark blowout problems.
Spark Dwell is the time the primary side of the coil is engergized. The more current you put through the primary side the larger a magnetic field is creates. When you shup off the primary ground you induce voltage into the secondary side, and this is what jumps the gap in the plug and ignites the A/F mixture.
Increasing spark dwell creates a hotter, stronger spark that is harder to blow out. However you have to remember that you only have a very small amount of time (expecially about the 5,000 rpm range).

Thats what I was having trouble with. At around 6000-6500 I would get a HUGE miss and black smoke would come out. Spark blow out I'm sure of it, my plugs are gapped to .035. I did what it said in Robs thread, took it out for a spin, ran smoother, and no spark miss in the high rpm range :twothumbs

Whats the dwell at around 6,000RPM?

4.8976 or something like that. I made sure it wasn't more than 5 ms above 6k.

So how do you know when the spark dwell is set correctly?
