question??

wussup evryone names paulo....im new just signed up bla bla bla ....i had an '00 honda prelude...it was my life then one night at 4am while raining sum cab cut me off and ..well u know the rest ...anwyays in the end i ended up in a cehvy dealer and got myself a red '07 cobalt ss superchrged....i think its beautiful and the handling is to drewl over ...anways didnt take me much time to learn the driving from a honda to chevy not much of a diff but i got it after a while,....now relating to my question some ppl tell me that redlining the ss too much is bad and it relly dusnt do much in the sense that it wont go faster once it hits its peak in the power bend....like its not a civic with vtech where redlining is nothing and basically needs to b done since the vtech power is at high rpms....i raced my buddy with an o6 civic si...we went at it 3 times and he got me twice but once cuz i spun out too much (i love it though) anyways wen i did beat him i didnt have to redline my car.. just first gear.. then i was grooving...buti styll want to know if redlinin is a good idea with the ss.....

welcome to the site paulo. redlining the ss is not bad. dont do it evey day every gear every time. and dont hit the revlimiter eather that can become bad. but you do want to go up in the rpms in this car to get the most out of it. the higher the rpm the more boost. and ou should of crushed the si. once you get used to the car you will be good to go buddy

Congrats on the car. I usually never redline first because if I do, then shifting into second is just stupid...it doesnt! But yeah take 1st half way then you should spin too much. For a second it may hesitate but it works for my car.

yea his si is pretty stock aem cold air dats all...ur right i should of had him...those cars cant beat ss im sure ....either way like u said gotta get used to it more....and about redline in first my mistake wen i raced my buddy i shifted first at about 2 almost 2 1/2 grand....and tire spin was decent....the thing the ss has too much hop i didnt like that....and stotte 20 i figured the lower the rpms the better because ther is asignificant drop from first 2 second in the rpms and that makes u loose time no?

welcome to the site, sorry to hear about ypur prelude(my favorite honda). These cars definatlty take some learning to be able to drive it to it full potential, first gear is hard. 2nd and 3rd are our best gears.
