When both wheels are turned straight it is possible to have bpth of them spin without any kind of posi or lsd.

Are you talking about the Differential?

For example: A non G85 SS/SC (No limited slip diff, open diff) can spin both tires only if each tire has the same grip. A G85 equipped SS/SC (LSD) spins both no matter how much the traction on each tire is different.

I would assume most fwd drive cars are like this as well. It all depends on what type of differential it has, LSD/other or open. As far as I know, fwd drive cars are not just 1 wheel drive though.

isnt the point of the lsd to apply traction to the tire with the most? hence it kicks in because one is slipping more so than the other?

Here is some info on LSD. No it has nothing to do with both of your tires spinning. Just thought this is good info for those that think it has to do with LSD.
