Stubborn brake dust...
Stubborn brake dust...
I have cleaned and waxed my wheels....but there are little spots on the inside of the rims that have brake dust on it........whats the best way to get rid of it?
Don't wax without removing the dust. Best advice is to use simple green on the rims but not to leave the solution on the rims very long. Rinse heavily and repeat process if necessary. I've found that a special solution I found at Murrays autozone (don't remember brand) you spray it on a wet rim and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse don't wipe and it removes everything!
im a detailer. we use stuff called chrome/wire wheel cleaner. it's actually a powerful acid. thats all we use to clean rims....painted, aluminum, whatever. spray it on, wash it off. call your local detail shop and ask them about their "tire acid". you thank me later.
