I just started going to the 780 Tuners Meets on a semi-regular basis, usually held every Friday and Saturday nights at United Cycle on Gateway Blvd.

Just wanted to let everyone know if anyone was interested in attending, seeing a few different cars, and representing the Cobalt community!

heya sean, how did that S/C problem you had turn out btw?

sounds like an interesting meet....
does it end up on the street? cops harass very much?

 

Hey man,

The Supercharger problem kinda fixed itself one day... I romped on it and the sound dissapeared.

We usually go for a cruise at the end of the night... I've seen the cops come once and take a look at the vehicles, but they were only looking at the skylines... no tickets were issued and no one was detained.

 

I usually go to the UC meets in the summer. Cops only show when someones an ass and does a burn out in the parking lot. Its funny though, in the summer you can usually find 4-5 cop cars hiding in the parking lot next door, behind the hill.

The rumors i heard might have been ture if they were over checking the skylines, apparently someone saw a R34 surrounded by cop cars.

 

The reason the cops stop and look is to see if any of the skylines have outstanding fines for failure to register the car properly (proper inspections, etc.)

They're doing their job, I have no problems with it. The cruises have been tame.

Hope to see some of you come out, let me know so I can be there too. ( I won't be going to all of them.)

 

well to be honest the only true "street meet" ive been to was with my brother in law in calgary (5.0L mustang driver) and he just kinda took me there to laugh along with him.

everyone met up at tim hortons, and about 50-100 hondas and pickups, with underglow and big soundsystems head off to secluded areas in the industrial estate.
when they get to the spot they all stand around waiting for someone to have the ***** to race.....usually theres NO races before the cops roll around and break it up....
the 1 time they did get a couple of runs off, the cop chopper flew over in silent/dark mode and then all of a sudden turned his bigass spotlight on everyone.......
then we sat and laughed as 200 16 year olds ran to their cars.....invariably yelling "cops cops cops!!!" like it was a drug bust or something.


was funny as hell, but its not really something id want to frequent more than 1 time to laugh.


Im hoping edmonton doesnt have similar meets?

 

HAHAHA No, I can say they arent like that. We sit in Timmys and talk tech and such about eachother's cars... much like you and I with a few others did at BP's.

Then we go for a cruise.

 

Is there going to be a meet this friday night? and if so what time?

 

maybe when it warms up.

 

it already has warmed up.. kinda.. the roads are clear :P

 

I haven't been going lately, but if anyone is interested in making a time in the near future, we can storm the 780tuners meet with about 10 SS/SC's... which would be fun!
