Battery Question

So my battery died. My car has been stored for a couple months now. I went out there earlier and jumped the car. It took awhile, but it eventually took a charge and started up. I let it run for about 10 minutes, and then shut it off. I tried to start it again, and nothing. The lights are still on, and everything works, just won't turn over. Since the lights are on and stuff, it's getting a charge, so should I just jump it again, or replace the battery?

I'd get ahold of a trickle charger and just hook it up over night. Your alternator will never fully charge a battery, it charges too fast or something (my electrician uncle told me), but a trickle charge will because it only charges at like 2 or 3 amps.

It'll take more than 10 mins of run at idle to charge a battery that is extremly dead. When storing you should always put a battery charger on the vehicle.

I looked for a trickle charger today. I found tons of battery chargers, but I'm not completely sure if its a trickle charger. What brand would you recommend, and where to get it at?

just get one where you can choose how many amps it charges at and how many volts, cause when they say triickle it just means to put a lil power on it at

I bought one for my body shop from NAPA for about $75 Don't know if I would want to spend that just for one car though. If you get a new battery, get an Interstate yellow top. They run about $140, but when they die a 5 min charge will bring them back to life.

10 minutes running is not long enough to chrge a battery to start a car especially idling.

A Dead Battery will freeze

If the battery completly dies it will freeze and damage it.
Best to charge it and put it in the house off of the Ground.(Donot let it sit on cement).
If it did freeze you probably lost a cell ( 1 CELL = 2 VOLTS ,6 cells =12 volts.iF YOU READ 10 VOLTS BATTERY IS DONE if you read 12 or over it should still charge enough to start the carbut may take a few hours at a high rate charge.
