It's pretty much impossible unless the person has your key

i have had 2 cars stolen in the past. first was in high school, stole my 68 camaro, right out of the school parking lot. they found it a few weeks later. well they found what was left. which wasnt very much. 2nd was 4 years ago now it was my 69 vw bug, all tricked out cali bug, airbags, cust paint, sweet ass ride. some bastard got that car one night from right outside my house. never did find that one.. but the balt. no problems.

never my cobalt (god bless the anti-theft package/key fob + OnStar), but I had my AutoX integra gsr stolen after i bought my cobalt... a week before the integra's title came in the mail...the day before it was scheduled to have an alarm and kill switch installed. if that's not crappy timing, i don't know what is. :P if Koni or Wilwood ever make parts for the Balt...I'm sold btw. they were awesome on the Teggy. i love my cobalt..don't get me wrong...it's way faster, but my Integra handled wayyyy better. Adjustable coilovers FTW! :P sidenote: i had to have OnStar pop my locks yesterday, was warming up the car @ the mountains w/out my spare available and bumped the lock button on the door as i was getting out.... i had to run up the mtn just to get a cell signal, it was hilarious!!! i felt like such an ****. :P word of advice; never bring a honda product to utah, because you won't have it long. i was looking at some honda board about a guy bringing his integra type r just passing through utah and had it stolen from the motel parking lot. THAT would suck.

My friends stole my car for a whole day... they didn't take it far, just down the street and into a garage. They wanted me to have an 'out-of-body' experience over it. So after that, if I saw one of their cars running in front of a store or in their yard, their cars disappeared. Even now, some 10 years later, some of the old gang will still swipe cars.

other than that, never had a car legitimately stolen... car theft here is pretty rare. Most people here would rather you fooled around with their wives that take their car/truck!

sorry guys i was just talking about cobalts, a guy told me he had his SS/SC stolen like 2 weeks after he bought it and that it was totaled. After the conversation i was thinking to myself and i thought they had a chip in the car that matched a chip in the key so the only way to start the car was to have the key and that it cant be hotwired. i think hes bullshitting cuz ive never seen his car and i drive past where he works atleast 3 times a week, whats the chance that its totaled now and ive never seen it nor ever will.

Well I say **** that to the whole key story because when i bought my car from the chevy dealer the spare they gave me was a normal saturn and it works just fine. Also.... I agree every car is stealable because my stepbrother is a car theif :-(.... Also... Lojack is a wonderful thing :-)

What is "Lojack" exactly?

Anyways, I have a Viper Alarm with ignition cut-out, so i shouldn't have to worry

Also don't forget the fact that a thief or group of thieves can use a flatbed to carry off a passkey car. It is obviously rather rare, especially on a lower cost vehicle like a cobalt, but it still can happen.

Anything can happen, but most of what I have seen on here have been ass monkeys breaking into and vandalizing their cars, inside and out..I seen some messed up pics on here of people spray painting on their Cobeys and what not.. Some people need to be kicked in the pee pee, or punched in the ovaries, yup straight to the baby maker. Girls vandalize too..lol

The only car I had stolen was my 1979 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a Chevy 383 stroker motoer under the hood. It was found 2 days later with no engine and the rear wheels burned bald. Happened back in the early 90's.

Damn was I pissed!

yeah the balts seem pretty difficult to steal, but if someone had hp tuners, they could probably change the vin to match a master key of some sort.
