what to get?

I am going to have a little bit of spending money soon and i want to know what will be the best bang for my buck bolt on. i am only going to have about $200. So what would be better for power a CAI or a header? Or is there something that will give more HP for $200. Currently i am bone stock other than removing the resonator on the stock airbox.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Honestly, I would say figure out what you want out of your car rather than just spending money just cause you're going to have $200.

Cai has the fun value to it,but when it comes to the header you should think about a Downpipe it tends to free up the exaust more than the header

Downpipe
Magnaflow Muffler w/custom axle back 2.5" exhaust

any other suggestions are greatly appreciated

i want to do more mods later but it is going to be a slow process, my wife isn't really supportive of me spending hundreds of dollars on modding a car

intake is moslty for sound. I did pick up a gain but over an entire 1/4 mile it was 0.1 and 1 mph. Nothing you can really feel driving on the street.

Well, what these guys say is true... but intake is really a good way to start off... it's been my first mod on all of the vehicles I've owned. You'll gegt 5-10 hp out of it... nothing major... but it's a start.

Basic bolt-ons are I/H/E (Intake, Header, Exhaust) and you want to knock out all 3 before you go any further.

A header is the first outlet of your exhaust. It looks like four plastic tubes that join up to the rest of your exhuast. The honing of the stock manifold is small so it resticts air therefore stealing valuble power from your engine. Stay away from pacestter headers. Listen to G5 and get a good downpipe...or even have a 2 1/2 inch made and steel braide it for looks.

so which will free up more power a manifold or downpipe. i know it is ideal to have both and a full exhaust. but i can only afford one for right now. and can hopefully get the rest later.

one more question, is the stock exhaust crush or mandrel bent?

i beleive a header is technically welded together while a manifold is uhhh....molded? (can't think of the word right now....a bit high at the moment.) so technically your stocker is a manifold not a header.
