WTF is up with my brakes?
Hey guys.
Ever since I bought my Cobalt, the brakes have been an issue. First, they pulsated real bad afer like a month. Then, they've always shot out a TON of brake dust! So annoying. I would have to thuroughly scrub my wheels twice a week. And lastly, when you wash the car, or it's raining, then you pull the car inside the garage for a little. As soon as you go to drive inreverse to get out of your garage, the brakes make the most terrible noise on the face of the earth. It's like ERRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH. Eff that. Not nescessary. My Monte, that's parked outside 24/7 doesn't even do that.
Anyone else have this issue?

Your abundance of douchebaggery is apparent.
Mine made that ungodly noise just the other day when I was backing up. The pulsating is warped brake rotors, and that does make your pads dust off very badly. As good as the brakes are on the cobalts, the rotors are not the best quality, and the pads are the same softies GM uses on all their cars. Invest in some decent aftermarket rotors and pads and the problems will go away, I can't wait to get new ones on mine!

Don't even answer the question then. Whatever.
Yeah, I was definately figuring that'd work. When I took the car in for the brakes the first time, they actually had to replace the rotors completely. Damn GM brakes. lol. I'm definately gonna look into replacing them for summer. Is this the rears that make that terrible noise? If so, I'll have to replace all 4. Damnit. lol.

Too bad none of those were in regard to my issue.
The brakes only squeal once. As soon as I go forward it goes away. I already had the other issue solved about warped rotors. But thanks anyway.
Oh snap.

If you're that busy that you are pissed this guy is wasting your time, then why the **** did you comment on it? get a goddamn life. If people didn't repost, this site would be completed and obsolete with the exception of about .5% of the posts. So in the future, if you feel someone is reposting, politely post a link that answers their question or go back into your dingy hole and stfu.

I made a sarcastic comment telling him to search because the same problems been discussed numerous times and if he did the simple search, he'd find his answer instantly. GM brakes are a known issue. He snapped back in response, and I proceeded to link it up for him. Plus Im not busy at all
I don't think anybody knows what it is. It happens one time and then goes away. If it stuck around then i'm sure someone would research it further.

My dealer is pretty cool about **** like that. I'm waiting for them to order a suspension warranty part for me, so I'll ask them about it when I'm there.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I took my car in because of a CEL, they asked me if I had done any mods, told em I had an air filter and the attachement for it, and the douche told me my whole warranty was voided. He told me they would have to charge me 120/hour to look into the CEL for me. I just laughed in his face and drove away.

mine did the same thing in our area too, just ended up replacing them with rotorworks all the way around and no more problems, gm pads are metallic and too hard for ou rotors from what im told.
