A high 15 can be obtained from this car easily. Fix your 60ft times with a better set of rubber and launch better. Try not to full throttle your way out. You will just a crappy 60ft'er otherwise.

I would also recommend besides better rubber for your 60ft'er to drop the clutch (or in drive if your an automatic) from a 2k or less RPM range. You will get a 2.3 60'fter for sure then.

Good time for your first time. I squeezed a 15.6 on my automatic Z24 once. It was glorious :)

Need to run my SS/SC next.

thanks for the input, i think the heat that day was killing me too, but when torque braking ill keep it at just 2k since this is an auto, im gonna be doing an all out suspension upgrade with sways and drop springs soon and new rims with wider tires so that should help take a few tenths off.

i did a 16.6 in my 100% stock ls

you could lower the tire pressure, and that would get you close to low 16's

hard to imagine that he has to lower the tire pressure or ease it off the line.

It's a 2.2L automatic.....not a 454 BB Chevy that spins the tires with ease.

I raced a 270hp Acura TL last night. Brake torquing or launch of idle ---it did not spin and got 2.5 sec 60 foot times. Kinda slow down low--but pulled at high rpms.

But I should think it could do a high 16 or maybe mid 16. Some times it can take several outings to get the best time even in an automatic.

Yes but any manual transmissioned car (like you have) can spin the tires. You just have to give it some rpms and drop the clutch. An auto (Cobalt 2.2L) will spin the tires just not enough to drastically effect your 60ft times

When your racing you want a little spin when you launch but not too much. Its a balance between too much and not enough.

Bring your car out to Race city Taro and lets see what she can do ;) When I get my 06 2.4L SS I'll race ya :)

i think the only reason the time was so high was the high temp that day it was real hot and humid
