Brakes machined again!! 2nd time

Took my car into the dealership for service again today because my brakes were pulsing again.. for the second they machined the roters and pads.... Sevice not said it was due to aggressive driving and they will not be machined again under warantee... what kind of crap is that????
I might drive it a little harder then moste... but its never seen the trqack and I've raced it three maybe for times.. and I'm only at about 15000 K

Don't worry, they won't be able to machine them again, so next week you'll either have to deal with the pulsation or replace them. Get new pads, too.

GM Rotors = Junk

I've machined mine twice and they pulsate. It's the harsh pads they use. They groove the rotors so much..

I'm just going a different route come spring.

So is it the pads or the rotors that are junk? I know that the rotors groove really bad but is it because the pads are garbage and damaging the rotors or are the rotors just crap?

its actually the pads that cause the damage, just get their new upgraded rotors and you'll be fine

So you get in the car and tear off from the dealor? anytime I ever do work on my own brakes I allways try to drive 100% different from my normal driving style, so I drive slow for about a week. So you might have heard about braking in your brakes, you should try it next time or maybe the first time your gonna have to pay for your brakes. Your brake will last longer and they probably wont warp(thickness variation) so soon. Heck I drive pretty hard but I still haven't had any brake problems, even my old Z24 didn't warp the rotors even after lapping days.

So your just like the dealer.. right away you assume I drive like an anamal... and peal out of everywhere... The dealer is downtown Calgary even if I wanted too it would be a waste of time spiining the tires out of there.. infact about 80% of my driving is in the city... the avridge speed according to my display is about 40 kmph.... I luv the way people are quick to judge and ASSume....... Come drive with for week......

man, how many miles on these rotors? With anything over 20,000 miles and having two turn downs on a lathe, you rotors must be getting stupid thin or really close to throw out spec. Now that they have been turned down again, they are even more susceptible to warping.

But then if the pads are causing the damage, wouldn't they just ruin the new rotors? I am only asking because I bought new drilled rotors and was just going to sand down my pads and use them with my new rotors. My pads only have 6000 miles on them. But if the pads are garbage, I will just buy new pads too.

the stock rotors are too soft for these pads, the "new" replacement rotors I have are a harder compound and also zinc coated with a broader diameter forstopping and 5 days now and my rims are still clean...Woot! I wont bother going for the crossdrilleds cause I'm vert happy with these, braking is much smoother than the original rotors

I had mine done with 8,000 miles on it. The dealership said they would not replace them. I called GM to complain and they also would not allow them to be replaced. The next time (which I am sure there will be) they get grooved.....I will be calling GM once a day till they replace the rotors with better ones.

THe pads are probably grade a ,which stands for high metallic content.
Had the same problem with rotors on my Safari van and switched to a lower grade pad
and that seem to solve the problem with the rotors.
The pads wear a little quicker but the rotors dont warp any more.
