I have a B&M SS shifter on my LS. Well it fits except for the top ball swivel. If I recall correctly that rod controls the left shift linkage.

I get a 2nd gear grind pretty often on hard shifting and downshifting curves. I want to keep my SS as it does help. I plan on shortening the rod so I can once again have drinks in my car.

Is there anything I could use to make the fit more exact on that part that isn't a direct fit. It's only MMs of space, but that is enough to not allow a good firm shift.

Any suggestions welcomed.
