View Full Version : 2.9" zzp pulley system, lucas #42's tuning?
chevysalesman614 02-01-2007, 06:56 PM i have these parts, and i really want to put them on. but, i know that would be a pretty big BANG! so, i would like a little guidance. i live in south jersey so driving to toms river is no big deal. but i don't really want to spend $350 on a dyno tune. and i also have a problem with a mail in tune cause i have to have the use of the cobalt.. it's my daily driver. i was thinking maybe i could drive up there and you could flash it with a mail in tune right there?
but then, i cant drive up there with the parts installed.. can i drive back with a tune and just a CAI?
06 ss s/c:
installed- AEM Cold Air Intake
in the box - # 42's, injector harness, ZZP 2.9" pulley system, gm stage 2 belt
please shed some light on my next move, i'm sort of lost and i don't want to blow up my car, thanks.

My advice is to find somebody in your area with HP tune or get one for yourself and upload Intense binary file for your tune, matching the mods.

What are you using for the flash? Custom? HP tune? Anything wrong with the intense tune, for $100 it beats swapping out the whole PCM if you have HP Tune or a buddy with one.

tune time has hptuners, and they are good with cobalts, i'm just gonna have them do it. but my concern was driving with the tune and no parts; or driving with the parts and no tune. but according to matt @ tune time, ^^ he just said its ok to have the tune, then put in that parts when i get home
RaineMan 02-11-2007, 12:13 PM Sounds like you'd be running really lean if you drove back with a flash for 42lbers while running the stockers.
