Motegi DV5 Chrome on SS/SC?

Thinking about getting some 18" DV5 rims in chrome. They weigh 24lb each, anyone know what the stock wheel weight is? Do you think they will look good on my black SS?

the stock wheels are 24lbs. get silver and ditch the heavy chrome. my wheels are 21lbs each and stock for stock i dyno 3-4whp more than a cobalt with stock wheels, consistently.

OK, these wheels weigh the same as stock then. You guys don't think chrome would look better on the black car than just silver? Help me out here. I can get Motgei, American Racing, MSR, Boss at cost through my work.

Blacked out wheels with a chrome lip OR straight up chrome looks great on any black car.

Just remember heavier wheels have a direct link to handling/brakes and performance. If the chrome ones are only 24 lbs which is the same weight as stock no worried IMO. It is very hard to find a great wheel, that looks good, worth buying, lighter than stock, good price and in 5-110.

its the curse that comes with having the worst bolt pattern. Keep an eye out I just ordered my wheels and I personally love them. They are the only wheel that hits every aspect of a great wheel IMO

that is one of my concerns about getting 18'inch rims cause their heavier and makes the car slower cause it have to push more for your ride to move.

if your looking for performance than why are you looking at 18's???? Obviously bigger wheels are nicer but its the sacrifice you gotta make unless you gotta alota money for wheels. As well in searching for wheels over 1.5 years there is a bizarre weight and structurely anomaly between 17's and 18's. You should be able to find a sweet set of 17's that are light and look good. 18's+ are for show. Now the stories a lil different when your car comes stock with 18's like the SS S/C. Even than there a large number of member that have gone down to a 17" wheel to improve performance.

How about these American Racing Chrome Rouge? They are 18x8.5 with a +35mm offset. How do you think they would fit? The Motegi DV5s are 18x8 with a +40mm offset.

Those will look very nice on your car. I like that choice.

I could not agree more with you. Been very hard long road finding wheels. What wheels did you choose.

I know this is bringing back an old thread, but has anyone looked at the OZ Ultraleggera rims? 18.8lbs and I think they look pretty nice. If you combine them with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, you'll save ~11lbs per (43.2lbs total) unsprung rate, while still keeping 18s.

Think this is what I'm going to do.
