First off, id like to say I have the compustar remote starter system that is idiot-proof as far as leaving the car in gear, so I wont need the 'remote starter on a manual is retarded' speech.

I installed the starter on my wrangler with no issues, id like to know if there is a wiring diagram or how-to out there for the SS/SC? I have done a search but come up with just about nothing.

FYI Compustar has the best system for manual transmission. It works like this; When you decide to stop your car and would like to start it remotely the next time you start it, you have to follow these steps:

1 - Park the car
2 - With your foot on the break, pull up the ebrake, and release the foot brake
3 - the interior and exterior lights will flash to let you know you are now in 'remote start mode' (compustar has a different name for this but i forget it)
4 - Remove the keys, the car will continue to run to guarantee you do not put it in gear
5 - Open the door, get out of the car, and close the door. The car will then turn off
6 - The car can now be remote started, HOWEVER if at ANY time the door or trunk is opened, the car will exit 'remote start mode' to avoid the off chance that you put it in gear when you opened the door.

idiot-proof.

That sounds like a good idea but...

How much was the system?
Wouldn't it just be easier to have the remote start system be disabled (as in no power source or something) when the car is in gear? Seems a lot simpler to me.

I would make sure your e-brake is adjusted properly. Don't know if you have seen what our e-brakes are like.

it was about $100 bucks, and it has up to 1 mile range, and sensors and a sick remote with a display.

well worth the money, and the system works flawlessly

Agreed that is a lot to go through for remote start. Get a garage and be done with it.

I havent really seen the cables for it, but if its not tight you would know cuz the car would move while your still in it/getting out/whatever.

it takes about 7 seconds to go through the whole process...

$100 for remote starter vs $10000 to add a garage to my house... hm tough choice

good point...well to be honest with u bro,my first car wasnt turbo and i actually kept leaving it in gear like the majority of ppl leave the cobalt..but i got into the habit when i got the srt,and been doin it ever since...i beleive there is a switch u can buy that will prevent the autostarter to TURN ON if the car is in gear
