Polished Wheels, Sunroof

So today there is another $500 rebate till the 20th for the Cobalt. In my area, they dont have any SS/SC Cobalts with just the LSD. I really aint gettin one without it, but is it worth it to get the car with the polished wheels, sunroof, and another option or two? Itl be over 1k more. I really want this car now...but i can wait but i dont wanna. What should i do? What do you guys think of the sunroof (heard of a lot of problems with the button fallin off) and the polished wheels (do they look a lot better)?

Personally I don't like the sunroof, unnecessary weight to me. But it's up to you. I got stuck with one and it's alright, but I would have preferred the car without it.

If you can wait, why not special order one? There is no extra charge, but you do have to put down a $1000 deposit. It goes towards the purchase price of the car though.

If you are really dead set on having specific options you should give it some thought. (Thats what I did and couldnt be happier with the knowledge that I got exactly what I wanted)

I cant get the extra rebate that lasts till the 20th. You have to take delivery of the car before it expires. I probly will special order it and that was my plan before this rebate. If i do, will they hold on to it for me till a bigger rebate comes? Hopefully, on the 29 (day after the $500 rebate expires), there'l be a 1k one. Or 0% APR would be even better. Anyone know anything about that?

Sorry don't know if they'd hold on to it. I was so eager when mine came in that I bought it just a few days after it arrived.

In my opinion the $500 rebate could be overlooked, but I'd think twice about 0% APR. For 0% I'd be willing to compromise with myself over what options the car had.

I feel the stock sunroof is an excellent option. No aftermarket unit can be as leak proof. The only thing I don't like about it is the non-auto switch. But it really makes the car to have the sunroof.

I personally like the polished wheels better. Alot of the cars don't have them, so its kinda cool to have a car that does. Plus I think they dress the car up a little. As for the sunroof...how long to you plan on keeping the car? If you don't plan on having it for more that say, 5 years..then who cares? There should be no problems with it until its a little bit older anyways, and if there is...its covered under warranty for a little while at least.

I love my sunroof, and I've had zero problems with it.
But I also like the look of the standard non-polished wheels better. In certain light they almost look black.

I ordered my Cobalt without a sunroof. Too many horror stories about sunroofs leaking.

Just an idea - but use it to your advantage that they DON'T have exactly what you want. Maybe you can talk them down if you convince them you've found another 'Balt just how you like it at another dealer, even if it's out of state.
If they know you're wanting to buy - and would prefer to buy from them - you're more likely to get it for less.

Can't they just hop on the computer and find you one to trade with another dealer with the options you want on it?

Dealer trades are generally frowned upon because if the car you want is worth more than the car they have in stock, then they lose money. Also, depending on the distance between the two dealerships, they'll just drive the car. I wouldn't want someone driving my new car for 200+ miles.
