2.4l twin cam s/c kit
2.4l twin cam s/c kit
i dont know about this kit...ive never really looked into any and i dont think ive heard anyone talka bout it so....would this 2.4l twin cam s/c kit work with us?http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...es=1&pkgid=147??
I guess if you can find a way to re-calibabrate the ECU it woudl work? I think GM knows how to do this, and are holding back. There is no way they went backwards in technology from one generation of vehicle to the next.
Is 50 hp really a significant gain for a 2.4 s/c? I guess that'd put us around 260ish whp with full bolt-ons - but I'd think just via the larger displacement this engine has to be capable of more than that. I do think with forced induction s/c will be the way to go though, turbo apps may yield more but they are so problem prone... I'm still confident we may see a GMPP forced induction option sometime in the near future. Has anyone heard if they're keeping/dropping the 2.0 s/c for 2008?

no... nononononononono... it won't work...
the 2.4L Twin Cam is a totally different engine... it's not even an Ecotec... don't even try.
Custom tuning is out for the 2.4 VVT Ecotec now... just turbo the damn thing... or use a centrifugal SC if you really want a supercharger... don't waste your time mounting up a roots type blower.

Much... I've seen it done on an Ion with the 2.2 Ecotec... looks really nice... you don't have to worry about finding an adapter plate for the TB... or any of that crap... mounting a roots blower on an engine not built for it is a lot of work...
If I remember correctly... the engine in a SS/SC is actually tilted back in the engine bay so that the SC will clear the radiator... there's a big problem you'll have to solve.
I go to bed everynight and pray GMPP comes out with a S/C for the 2.4L. Pretty unlikely I know.
50hp and tons more torque wold do small miracles. Add full exhaust ect and your gains wold jump.

I think it will happen. If they get enough cries from the Cobalt SS, 2LT HHR and G5GT community someone will come out with an ideal forced induction plastform. That isn't to mention the Sky/Solstice and the new Astra if it uses a similar engine plastform
The EcoTec 2.4 is the engine of the future.

Getting a supercharge would not be a problem if enough of us drop a deposit to some reputable company, Tag said they would have no probelm making us one but no one jumped on it, Just look what is being done for the rwd 2.4 and the whipple, twincharge, and turbo..........this is because people band together and drop money. You honestly think that tag and other companys dont peek in from time to time? They are a buisness if there is money to be made they are there period.
I for one have no plans to go to Forced Induction until my warranty is up, unless GMPP comes up with an option.. that's probably the hold up, I'm sure you'll see a lot more active interest from the 2.4 crowd after the 3 years are up in the 2006 crowd.
