View Full Version : Foam Gun = Good
Well a while back I posted a thread about the Gilmore foam gun to see if anyone had used it. Well i decided to give it a try myself, I purchased it from autogeek.net and here are the results. It works great and is worth every penny.

stotte20 02-25-2007, 11:06 PM dam now i will have to order one. witch one did you get?? what size? package?
blacksssc05 02-25-2007, 11:09 PM how much is one of these guns
I believe it was about 60 bucks from autogeek.net and I just got the bare minimum which comes woth the gun and a quart mixing bottle, they also include free foaming wash (which I did not use) and a set of hose quick disconnects.
By the way I used Meguairs Gold Class Car wash in the gun.
SSdan 02-25-2007, 11:26 PM Ok so, it sprays the soap/foam and you rub it in with a normal mitt?

yup, basically it replaces your usual soap filled bucket, I sprayed the car, then sprayed the mitt, and did a panel at a time. Then rinsed the mitt and repeated. Plus I found it nice to give the entire car a good coating before I even started with the mitt that way it could get time to work into all the gunk that way it would come off easier.
SSdan 02-25-2007, 11:39 PM Seems like alot of work. Sray car, spray mitt, wipe, rinse mitt, spray again. Repeat. I like the standard bucket method.
Althought, more suds = sweet for cleaning.

yah it just depends how much of a freak about your car you are. I am meticulous and do what I can to achieve no swirl marks which requires a rinse bucket and going a panel at a time for starters. The foam gun has really made the whole process easier and less time consuming.
TCarter 02-26-2007, 12:43 PM pretty nice!
i wish I had a home garage I can wash my car in / wax.
SSdan 02-26-2007, 12:45 PM Actually, seeing as how you have to rinse the car off anyway, I've realized it would make things much much easier.
Allshot 02-26-2007, 12:51 PM I want a garage :(

i feel your pain bud....but up here it gets snowed on too!:thumbsdow
Lindze 02-27-2007, 08:24 AM To have access to a garage that's not always packed full of crap, vehicles, snowmobiles, peices of equipment, that i was allowed to wash my car in.... now that would be nice.
Excellent choice. Foam guns are one of the best things you can buy for your vehicle in terms of keeping the exterior clean and swirl free as they can eliminate most of the dirt from the suds alone that the foam gun produces. I use one as well, but mine is an attachment for my pressure washer.
HunterXero 04-04-2007, 09:13 PM if only I had access to a garage that...
A) didn't have my dads motorcycle in it.
B) wasn't full of shit.
C) wasn't only 6 feet deep!
D) WASN'T CONVERTED INTO A PLAYROOM FOR MY BROTHER! >_<
my balt and nova both get stuck outside, at least the nova has a car cover, I havn't gotten around to gtting enough money to buy a good one for the cobalt (the one on the nova cost $150)
